“From Wholeness to Service: The Importance of Giving Back”

The theme for this week is giving back. Once we have begun our personal transformation, the time comes for us to give back. The main reason we work out is so that we can be of service to others.  When we are constrained be our bodies service is the lasting thing on our minds.  Helping others along their journey to transformation is the principle of unity and fellowship but it can only come form our own self realization of wholeness. Giving back is what the law of circulation is all about; what you give away freely comes back you. Today is the time to reach out and be of service. Remember, we are all connected. What affects one, affects us all. There is power and strength in a community that stands together and lends a helping hand to their fellow man. Getting the opportunity to serve others is a gift, and as we serve others we serve ourselves.

Following up with the theme of giving back this week, I will be participating in the Cycle for Survival event on March 2nd 2013. This event is a cycling event to help raise money for cancer, which is one of the deadliest diseases on the planet. If you have ever lost a loved one to cancer then you know that every moment and every little bit counts. Working together for the common good is the only force we have against this silent killer. Start giving back with me by donating to the cause and help raise cancer awareness as well as fund much needed research here.

Principles For Transformation.

You cannot change your body without changing your mind. This is the most important principle we can recognize. Once we transform the way we think, the body and spirit will shift and true change will happen. When our thinking is clear, and our minds are renewed, transformation of the body temple is much easier.  I would like to share with you 10 easy principles that will help you focus and align your practice with your intentions. This philosophy for transformation has helped me guide hundreds of people (as well as myself) to finding the keys to unlocking freedom and today I want to share them with you.

1.  Willingness:

There must be willingness for transformation to take place.  The willingness is a desire to be better. You must give yourself permission to be ok.  A willing to shift is fueled with intention to see the shift happen, to do the work, willingness to be whole and complete.

 2. Hope:

There must be a “state of hope” that a transformation can happen.  Hope is when you see the light at the end of the dark storm.  Hope is the personal invitation needed to begin the transformation of the mind, body and spirit. You begin to see the vision of a better life that the universe has in store for you.

 3. Courage:

Transformation requires courage—the courage to begin—to take the first step; It is the energy that gets you to the gym.  IT the vibration that helps to seek out a trainer or a coach.  Courage is the power that helps you to change what is not working in your life.  When you are sick of carrying the extra, unwanted weight, or want to shift the way you think about of your life, changing the way you feel to get started. There must be courage. Human nature fights hard for sameness but we must be stronger to envision our future.

 4.  Love:

Understand that it is Love that is the healer.  It is the desire to love your self deeply; that is why we work the body temple, and why we shift the way we think about our selves. It is why we pray and meditate. Love devolves all issues.  Transformation is about the Love.  When we love ourselves, only then can we truly love others.  Love is the ultimate cure for all things.

5. Faith:

There must be faith for the transformation to begin and succeed. Faith is a belief that the transformation can happen.

6. Knowing & Confidence:

You must have the confidence to carry on during your transformation. ‘Knowing’ is the certainty that a shift is happening. Faith leads you to the knowing that you are shifting the body, mind and spirit. When you begin to see the payoff of the work you have said yes to, it will turn turning into confidence.

7. Fellowship:

It is the unity of like-minded people that will support your transformation. When you go to a gym, people are working together with the same purpose in mind: to be healthy. This will help energize you, keep you accountable, and keep you on the right track. Fellowship tells you that you are not alone on this journey.

8. Perseverance:

You must have a “stick to it ” attitude.  No matter what, you must keep going.  When you think that your transformation is at a stand still you must not judge, just keep moving.  Sometimes your transformation has the appearance of a plateau, but every practice, every session and even meditation accumulative counts. Everything counts.  When you hit a plateau, you are at a transformational fork in the road.  You have 2 choices: give up or keep going. This will help you move over every milestone to the last pound. Winners never quit and the harder to push yourself your goals will come to realization sooner.

9.  Gratitude:

You must be grateful for what you have so that you can manifest the next stage of your life.  Learning to love and be grateful for the body you have been given as your transform the outer shell that is your body.  “Gratitude is the attitude for manifestation.” When we are grateful for what we have, it is always enough. If you spend your life looking for more each time, you risk happiness.

10. Be of service:

Once you have connected with your inner light, it is time to shine for others to see.  We transform the bodily temple so that we may be of service.  Transformation is not about getting anything, it about giving.  When we recognize that we are here to serve life, once we see the vision, we free up our spirit and our minds are able to give. We are able to serve one another. In transformation you find your true gifts. We want to access our spirit so our body doesn’t hinder our progress.

Finding Your Gifts

Why are we here on this Earth? Look deeper into your hopes, aspirations and find the essence of you. Finding your true gifts and recognizing your strengths will help you begin on your journey. Our true calling in life can help us determine how we want to go about our transformation. Physical fitness is part of that journey. Think of it as training your body for an adventure–your life.
What’s important?
Physical fitness is about empowering yourself. Making the decision to change our relationship with ourselves and the way that our body interacts with our mind is always the first step. We must have the strength to rethink our outlook on change. The positive benefits outweigh our insecurities because once your mind is convinced that change is needed and can be done, you are setting your spirit free to get you there.
Exercise:
Write down a few things in your life you would like to change or strengthen. Seeing your goals and writing them down let’s them be released into the universe. Get the ball rolling and you will see that it can happen.

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Setting Intentions – Day 31 “A New Way of Life”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Setting Intentions – Day 31  “A New Way of Life”

Today’s Body Connection:  When we say yes to fitness, we say yes to a new way of living.  Our life becomes fuller with purpose.  We begin to know that there is nothing we cannot do.  We must allow our physical practice to be the tool that elevates our belief system.  Today, as you work out, set the intention to expand your awareness.  Consciousness creates form. so create your new life from your new way of thinking.

Today’s Meditative Thought: We must always set the intention to grow and expand our consciousness.  When there is a shift in awareness, it is always followed by a new way of life.

A transformation begins with an intention: intention to grow, to change, to shift, or just to be more of ourselves.  This intention always focuses on our evolutionary development.  Even when we think it is time to change the way we look or to lose a few pounds, all things bring us back to the nature of our oneness with the Universal presence of God.  It is our divine birthright to look in the mirror and feel good when we see ourselves.

After the intention comes the action.  We just can’t sit around on our intention.  A new way of life requires action.  “Faith without works is dead.”  Once we have identified and participated in the practice on a consistent basis, we begin to see a new way of life that has taken over the old.  Set the intention and follow it up with the action.  Then you will see your life as new.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, set the intention to embrace a new way of life; a transformation of your existence.  Take the time to vision for your life, and see what, and how, the Universe is calling you to participate.  Catch your new way of life vision that is seeking to emerge.  Once you receive the vision, step into action and create the practice that will support your transformation.  Prepare yourself for a new way of living.  It’s already within you; just allow it to come forth.

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I embrace my oneness with Spirit that ignites my transformation.  I am blessing and fulfilling my birthright of infinite possibilities.  Amen.

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Setting Intentions – Day 30 “Retreat”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Setting Intentions – Day 30 “Retreat”

Today’s Body Connection:  Resting is the best way to get stronger.  The days we are still are the days that the body recovers and regains its strength.  We must work out hard but rest harder.  Balance is the key. If we don’t take the time to recover, we train the body-temple from a disadvantage.  Some days we must push the restart button by taking a day off.  Retreat from your workout to begin again.  When we take a day off, we come back to the physical practice full of energy and renewed.

Today’s Meditative Thought:  Sometimes we must retreat from our everyday lives to push the restart button.  The word “retreat” means to withdraw into a place of safety, a refuge, or retirement and/or a period of retirement for religious or spiritual practices like meditation and prayer.

When we decide that life has become overwhelming or too challenging, it is time for a retreat.  We do not have to go up to the mountains or to the desert to push restart, although that is the ideal way to retreat.  We can begin again in our homes, in the backyard, down the street at the park, or even with a day at the beach.

A retreat is a turning away from what stands in the way of your spiritual practice, and a surrender to your connection with God.  Be open to a daily retreat from the world.  Find a place that you can escape from the grind and fall into the arms of God.  Set the intention to find your safe haven in God.  The Universe is always ready for you to “steal away” some time for yourself.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, set the intention to retreat on a daily basis.  Find the time to unplug from the world and connect with God.  For 30 days, take time to shut off the computer, cell phone, and TV and just be still.

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, my oneness with the power of God fuels my very being.  My safe haven is in my sacred and holy place within.  And so it is.  Amen.

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Setting Intentions – Day 29 “Blessing the Planet”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Setting Intentions – Day 29 “Blessing the Planet”

Today’s Body Connection:  What you do in your physical practice affects the collective.  When you choose to participate in a life of wellness, you begin to radiate the light of healing and everyone can feel it.  Your training blesses this planet, which needs as much healing as it can get.  We are all connected to the one source, the energy of life.  If one part of the collective is dis-eased, we all feel it.  I believe there are more people on the path of enlightenment of the body, mind, and spirit, but we must all do our part to stay awake.  Your practice is what saves the world, so stay awake and accountable.

Today’s Meditative Thought: We only have one planet, and it is our responsibility to take care of the place we live in.  The Universe has miraculously supplied us with a world that truly works without us interfering.  We live in a world that has enough supply to feed everyone.  There is enough water; we are just in the middle of a distribution?? imbalance.

The problems that we face are man-made.  Thanks to the growing use of plastics, the constant drilling for natural resources, pollution, and the buildup of non-recyclable garbage, we are the cause of Mother Earth’s destruction.

When we set the intention to bless the planet, our eyes are opened to the need to change the way we live.  Question: Can we live without an impact on the planet?  Can we live without generating more man-made garbage?  Can we begin to plant trees and grow organic vegetables?  Let’s begin today, so that we may have a better tomorrow for our children.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, set the intention to bless our planet.  For 30 days, diligently meditate and contemplate ways to save Mother Earth.  Take on the commitment to renew the Earth’s resources.  Whatever spirit reveals to you, be willing to step up to the plate.

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment… just for this breath, my universal way of life is fulfilled in the creative open spaces of God.  I am the blessing that heals this world.  I am the light and the “way-shower” of the planet.  And so I am.  Amen.

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Setting Intentions – Day 28 “Sharing Your Gifts”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Setting Intentions – Day 28 “Sharing Your Gifts”

Today’s Body Connection:  Once you begin to transform, share the wealth with others.  It’s very simple: send a blessing of health and wholeness to everyone you run into.  Ending your conversation with “be well” is a consecration.  Share the gift of life with everyone you know.  Your desire to bless people with a high vibration, a smile, or a prayer always returns to you.  Transformation can never be hidden.  Even if you say nothing, they will feel your intentions and they will see your success.

Today’s Meditative Thought: Set the intention to share your gifts.  What a blessing it is when we realize that we have so much to give!  What qualities are you bringing forth today?  What are you choosing to share?  Love, joy, compassion, oneness, and gratitude are gifts that live within our being, and we are free to share these gifts with others.  The most important gift that we can share is our time.  We must set the intention to bless others with the divine talents we have.  Share your love, share your wisdom, and share God.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, set the intention to share the divine qualities that live within your soul.  Choose a gift of love, joy, compassion, peace, or harmony, and set the intention to share it everywhere you go.

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I share the gift of God that is my life.  And so it is.  Amen.

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Setting Intentions – Day 27 “Release Your Fear”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Setting Intentions – Day 27 “Release Your Fear”

Today’s Body Connection: We must release our fears to know health and wellness. When we allow fear to overcome our practice, it becomes a block. Fear is always based on the “what ifs”: “What if I don’t make it?” “What if I don’t drop the weight?” “What if the workout is too hard?” All fear is based on future negative possibilities. We must stay in the present moment, one breath, one moment, one workout at a time. Don’t worry about the future; it never comes. The future is always in the future; come back to the present.

Today’s Meditative Thought: The Course in Miracles says that we only have two thoughts: a thought of fear or a thought of Love. The thought of fear is always anchored in doubt, worry, and the “what ifs.” When we are not in the present moment we are in a place of fear. This fear is also a direct connection to the expansion of the ego. The ego wants to protect and attack. Our human mind wants to tell us that we are “no good,” our relationship sucks, or that we will never achieve our goals. These are lies from the Ego.

A Love thought is the realization of God and the infinite possibilities vibration that we’re living, moving, and having our being in. God is the source of all our needs and in the universe we can do all things and more. Set the intention to be aware when you are operating from a place of fear or a place of love. Where are your thoughts? You have the choice. It begins with your awareness. Once we recognize that we are operating from fear, we then can set the intention to release the fear and embrace our reality, which is love.

Today’s Action Plan: Today, set the intention to release fear and embrace love. When you find yourself in the “what if” frame of mind, come back to the now, which is the only power that we have.

Today’s Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, I release the “what ifs” and live in the power of now. All things are possible in my life. Breath by breath and moment by moment. Amen.

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Setting Intentions – Day 26 “Finding Your Inner Peace”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Setting Intentions – Day 26 “Finding Your Inner Peace”

Today’s Body Connection:  Running and walking to find where your inner peace comes from sets the intention.  As you take a step forward, affirm to yourself that you are walking to know more peace.  As you run, feel the energy that is pulsating through your veins.  Focus on the vibration of the heart as you go within.  Shut out the outer noise and listen to your higher self.  If you run outside, stay alert to what is happening to around you.  Witness, be awake, but listen with your inner ear for your guidance.

Today’s Meditative Thought: Set a daily intention to find inner peace.  Inner peace, or what I choose to call serenity, is a state in which, no matter what happens, all is well right now.  No matter what is happening within our lives, there is always a call to be content.  This inner peace is the knowing that right where you are the presence of God is; therefore you are right where you are for a purpose.

Inner peace in action is not only being okay with the fact that you are standing in a long line at the supermarket or the post office, but also knowing that you have been called to that time and space for a divine reason.  Serenity is just not accepting but embracing whatever is going on in your life at that moment.  Everything fades into God; therefore everything has a purpose and a calling.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, set the intention to find your inner peace.  Meditation is the key.  Set the time to meditate on inner peace and what serenity looks like for you.

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am the inner peace that I seek.  I am willing to become peaceful in every and all situations.  And so it is.  Amen.
