DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 20 “A Strong Foundation Is Divine Will”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 20 “A Strong Foundation Is Divine Will”

Today’s Body Connection:  If you have one choice to make one body part strong, it is most definitely the abdominals.  Your core, or the trunk of your body, is the foundation of your body; when it is strong, everything else works with ease.  Your core is divided into three sections: the front, or the rectus abdominis, which helps the torso to flex forward and to stand straight and stabilize; the erector spinae, or the muscles along the spine, which allow us to extend and straighten the back after bending over; and the obliques, which allow us to rotate from side to side. The ability to move the torso side-to-side, front to back, and any combination of the two requires a strengthening and flexibility of the core muscles.  Like your spiritual journey, your body needs a strong foundation upon which the practice is built.  When your base is weak and inflexible, your house will fall when the winds of life starts blowing.  Take the time to build your practice by creating a foundation that cannot be shaken.

Meditative Thought: “True prayer must be, Thy will be done.” — Ernest Holmes. God’s will is to bless you to the fullest capacity possible.  The challenge is when we get in the way by putting God in a box.  When we ask God for the blessing to look a certain way, it limits our possibilities.  God is infinite and his will is for you to share in infinite wealth and supply.  God’s love for us is to see you live the biggest, most amazing life ever.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, surrender to God’s will, which is your highest good.  Write a letter to the Universe proclaiming your commitment to God’s will.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, my will is God’s will and God’s will is my will.  And so I let it be.  Amen

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 19 “Knowledge Is Power”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 19 “Knowledge Is Power”

Today’s Body Connection: Have you ever heard the saying, “Knowledge is power”? This affirmation is the foundation of transformation. When we dedicate ourselves to the practice, we become an open vessel for knowledge. When we begin to study everything fitness-related, we dive into learning more and more about ways to activate our inner strength. We are inspired to make a space for self-exploration so that we may know what works or what form of physical practice inspires us. We empower ourselves with the knowledge of what is healthy eating and what is junk food. It is knowledge that empowers the manifestation of the life that we are meant to live.

Meditative Thought: “Inherent in every desire is the seed of its fulfillment.” — Deepak Chopra. Deepak speaks of faith. Know from the beginning that your prayers are being fulfilled. It is done. It is complete. The Universe never says no; yes is always the answer. Say yes to your highest good. Manifestation doesn’t always look the way we want it to, but it always shows up. Blessings might not show up when we want them to, but they always show up. Have faith that the Universe is working for your highest good. Release your expectations of how God should bless you.

Today’s Action Plan: Today, Pray without expectations, except one: know that God is blessing you right now with a BIG FAT YES!

Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, I say yes to the Universe and the Universe says yes to me. Amen

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 18 “Spiritual Endorphins”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 18 “Spiritual Endorphins”

Today’s Body Connection:  Have you ever heard someone say, “I am addicted to fitness?”  It’s time to embrace our inner love for being healthy and release the fitness addiction of feeling happy.  The word addiction has such a negative connotation attached to it, but I would like us to change the vibration when we talk about health and fitness health.  The definition of addiction means a continual use of an external substance for an adverse, mind-altering experience.  Whenever we look to the fitness activity as something outside of ourselves it has the tendency to become an addiction.  Yes, we workout to feel better, but there needs to be more.  When we first begin to train the body, we feel a chemical release known as endorphins.  This reaction is a high that is beyond anything we have ever experienced.  If we are not clear about why we work out, we can be chasing the high and never be fulfilled.  The physical practice is about expanding our awareness; everything that we need and desire is already within us.  Today, embrace your inner love for living a life that is healthy.  There will come a time when you don’t feel fit, but you will choose the right action.  Your decisions are based on who you are.  Stand firm in that knowing; it will keep you on the journey of enlightenment.

Meditative Thought: “And you pray to be free, and for your burden to subside.  Hold on I’m the answer!  Pray till you realize, realize.” – Rickie Byars Beckwith’s lyrics from the song, When the River’s Rising.

Prayer is about finding your freedom in the midst of bondage.  Prayer is the key that unlocks the door to your heart’s desire.  When the river of life is raging, hold on, and don’t give up.  Your prayer brings your attention back to God.  Stay in prayer until the Universe awakens your consciousness.  Prayer is the answer to all your problems.  In prayer you’ll find your problem will dissolve, until the truth is the only thing that is left standing.

Today’s Action Plan:  Keep praying until something happens.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment… just for this breath, I keep praying until something shifts.  And so it is. Amen

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 17 “The Practice That Shifts Our Consciousness”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 17 “The Practice That Shifts Our Consciousness”

Today’s Body Connection:  Health and fitness has no finish line, only opportunities for continual growth.  Just when you feel that you have conquered one goal, there will always be another intention to set and achieve.   Think of your practice as a constant invitation to expand your conscious awareness of your inner strength.  The practice has only one purpose and that is to let us know our own divinity.  Every workout will help us to create the life we desire.  There is nothing holding us back from our greatness except the belief that we are less than amazing.

Meditative Thought: “We are affirming, declaring, and claiming the truth about the condition we desire to see manifested, realizing and convincing ourselves of what is true in the absolute realm.” — Linda Watson, ALSP.

Linda Watson, Agape Licensed Spiritual Practitioner, reminds us that prayer is about changing our consciousness.  No matter what the “story” or situation is, our prayer is to shift our minds away from the problem and look towards the solution.  The solution is always God.  If you are in need of money, your prayer is to connect with the spirit of abundance.  If you are dealing with relationship issues, your prayer is to remember that you are love; therefore you can love.  If you are faced with health challenges, your prayer is to tap into the Divine energy of wholeness.  Release your “story” and embrace your glory.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, examine the situation you are praying about.  Find the spiritual quality that is seeking to emerge from the story.  Here are a few examples: money problems, pray to know your abundance; relationship issues, pray to know self love; work problems, pray to know your divine creativity; sickness and health challenges, pray to reveal your wholeness.  Take time to journal about your insights.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment… just for this breath, I declare my divine truth within every situation.  Every problem reveals God as a solution.  And so it is. Amen

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 16 “It Is Done as We Believe”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 16 “It Is Done as We Believe”

Today’s Body Connection:  When we say yes to transforming our lives, there must be an initial belief that change can happen.  If we trust that our workouts will make a difference in our lives, they will.  Our existence is created from our belief systems.  If we think that a push-up is the hardest thing we have ever done, it feels that way.  But if we set the intention to remember our inner strength, the physical practice becomes inspired and filled with hope.  Shift your belief from “Maybe” to “It is done.”  Work your body from a place of “It is done.”

Meditative Thought: “We cannot believe in a Divine Power that responds more quickly to one than to another.” — Ernest Holmes, Prayer.  I love that quote.  Sometimes we believe that someone has an extra blessing or more God power than someone else.  Spirit does not discriminate.  The Universe does not know whether you are a good person or a bad person.  Prayers manifest as we believe.  The scripture says, “It is done as you believe.”  Be aware of your motivation for praying.  If we pray out of fear, fear is the energy that the Universe will use.  If you pray for money, out of fear of being broke, the fear wins out every time.  Fear is of the same energy as faith.  The Universe reacts to our energy, vibrations, emotions…not the words we speak.   The Universal law works no matter what.  Be aware of not only what you pray for, but also how you pray for it.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, pray with the awareness of your emotions and vibrations.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, my prayers are filled with high vibrations.  All my intentions are immersed in love.  And so it is. Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 15 “The Practice that Unites Us”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 15 “The Practice that Unites Us”

Today’s Body Connection:  Understand that you are not the only one on this journey of transforming your body-temple.  You do not stand alone in your goals.  There are those who desire the same transformation you desire.  There are people who have bigger goals than you.  You want to drop ten pounds, while your neighbor wants to drop 25.  You have a wedding dress that you want to look amazing in, while there are million of brides with the same intention.  You have a pair of skinny jeans, and so do I.  If you could take a survey of your community I would bet that three-quarters of your neighbors have set the intention to feel better, look better, and improve the condition of their health.  If you have dropped 25 pounds, there is someone who you will meet that will be blessed by your experience.  Transformation is the one factor that we all have in common on some level.  Your journey will empower someone else who desires to be better.  Stay open and willing to help someone or look for that person that will inspire you to be the best you can be.

Meditative Thought: “Prayer is a tool that unites the world.” — Skip Jennings, “Spirit Explosion”                                                                                                                                                                                               Because we are one with the spirit of God, when you pray for someone else, you are praying for yourself.  With that in mind, we pray only for the highest good for everyone.  I am always looking for the opportunity to pray.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, search for opportunities to pray for someone; I know you will find them.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am aware of my oneness with the most high.  I sing a song only I can sing.  I am playing in the playground of the Universe where everyone is welcome.  When I speak a word for others, I bless myself.   And so it is.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 14 “Release and Let Go”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 14 “Release and Let Go”

Today’s Body Connection:  There comes a point in our transformation when we simply need to let go and let the Universe do its thing.  When you have done all you can and you feel stuck, let go of the control.  Let go of what you think you transformation needs to look like.  Let go of the outcome and allow the blessing to surprise you.  Yes, we set our goal weight, but we let go of how we will achieve it.  There are so many ways to drop the inches.  Yes, we want to be stronger, but strength-training comes in different packages.  When we finish working out, there needs to be a symbolic death of the physical practice so that transformation can truly take place.  In yoga, we call the hatha (movement) the practice, and the meditation the actual yoga.  The shavasana, or corpse pose, is the symbolic death of all the work that has come before.  The practice is over, let it go so that you may go out and live your transformation.

Meditative Thought: Affirmative Prayer Step 6 – Release:  Once you have said the prayer, you must release and let it go.  Release the prayer; allow God to be God.  We hold on to our prayers because we don’t have the faith that they will come to fruition.  As long as we hold on tight, the prayer can’t expand, it can’t breathe, it can’t grow.  It goes no further than your mouth.  Our prayers must fly into the cosmos.  “I let go and I let God,” is a mantra that I use all the time. Release is the first step toward serenity.  Turn your cares and worries over to God.  Release is true freedom.  It builds our faith.  We begin to believe that God is in control.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, begin to release your prayer into the Universe so that God can be God.  Journal your experiences. I would love to hear from you.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I release and I let God.  And so it is.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 13 “Thanksgiving”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 13 “Thanksgiving”

Today’s Body Connection:  Like we start the practice; finish with the same attitude gratefulness and thanksgiving.  We can simple be grateful that the workout is over or that we went a little further then we intended to go.  Just be thankful.  We can appreciate that our body is working well enough to workout or that we can afford a trainer or a gym membership.  There is always something to be grateful for. When we appreciate what we have or what we have done, it always enough.  When we forget to be thankful, we are always looking for more.

Meditative Thought: Affirmative Prayer Step 5 – Thanksgiving:  Meister Eckhart wrote, “If the only Prayer you said in your life was ‘Thank You,’ that would suffice.”  This stage moves us into faith; faith that it is done.  Thank you is that overwhelming appreciation for God and its infinite expression of giving.  The more we say thank you, the more we have to be thankful for.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, say thank you every chance you get.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am grateful.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 12 “What Do You Know?”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 12 “What Do You Know?”

Today’s Body Connection:  Our workouts will lead to a deep knowing or realization, if we are open to discovery.  The journey of transformation is the path to a deeper knowledge of ourselves.  My favorite question that Oprah has ever asked is, “What do you know for sure?”  Can we truly list all the things we know for sure?  What do you know about your body-temple? What were you created to do?  Do you know your own power and strength? Today, during your workout, contemplate the question, “What do I truly know about my body, mind, and spirit?” Expect the answer to come from within and all will be revealed.

Meditative Thought: Affirmative Prayer Step 4 – Realization:  The realization step is about what you know.  “I know,” are the words that anchor this step.  Remember, a prayer treatment is an affirmative prayer.  It’s not about begging for something; it’s about what you know to be true.  “I know that I am abundant.  I know that my life is full of grace.  I know that all is well in my life.”  By stating these words of truth, we plant the seed allowing the Universe to do its thing.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, remember your divine qualities by saying, “I know…” and fill in the qualities that are seeking to be activated in you.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I know, that I know, that I know!  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 11 “Unification with Your Higher Self”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 11 “Unification with Your Higher Self”

Today’s Body Connection:  Unification is all about your perception and awareness.  We can move through our day without ever acknowledging our higher self.  Have you ever finished a challenging workout and asked yourself, “Is that it?”  Or have you completed a goal, dropped the weight or dress size, and felt nothing or even worse than when you started? We can move from workout to workout feeling unfulfilled, not knowing why.  Our disappointment comes from the appearance of separation.  Unless we give the physical practice a deeper meaning, our journey can never fulfill us. Today, unify your workout with the Divine.  Every step you take and every squat you do is for the soul unfoldment.  Run with a purpose. Stretch to know your inner love.  Align our workout with an intention to expand your consciousness.

Meditative Thought: Affirmative Prayer Step 3 – Unification:  The unification stage is about awakening to our oneness with The Universe.  “God is, I am,” is a defining affirmation that helped me to expand my Unity consciousness.  During this step, I speak words like, “One Life, one sprit, one mind, one God,” and I know my life is one with God.  Reverend Kathleen McNamara from Agape says to stay in the unification step until you know that you are one with God.  Don’t move from this stage until, without a doubt, you can say that you and God are one.  When this unification awareness happens, you activate the power of the Universe.  The more you realize your oneness with God, the more you are able to activate Divine power in your life.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, activate the unification vibration in your life.  Speak the affirmation: “God is, I am” every hour on the hour until you know unification for sure.  During your workout, set the intention to know oneness with Love.  Journal your process at the end of your day.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, God is, I am and we are one. And so it is.  Amen
