DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 17 “The Practice That Shifts Our Consciousness”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 17 “The Practice That Shifts Our Consciousness”

Today’s Body Connection:  Health and fitness has no finish line, only opportunities for continual growth.  Just when you feel that you have conquered one goal, there will always be another intention to set and achieve.   Think of your practice as a constant invitation to expand your conscious awareness of your inner strength.  The practice has only one purpose and that is to let us know our own divinity.  Every workout will help us to create the life we desire.  There is nothing holding us back from our greatness except the belief that we are less than amazing.

Meditative Thought: “We are affirming, declaring, and claiming the truth about the condition we desire to see manifested, realizing and convincing ourselves of what is true in the absolute realm.” — Linda Watson, ALSP.

Linda Watson, Agape Licensed Spiritual Practitioner, reminds us that prayer is about changing our consciousness.  No matter what the “story” or situation is, our prayer is to shift our minds away from the problem and look towards the solution.  The solution is always God.  If you are in need of money, your prayer is to connect with the spirit of abundance.  If you are dealing with relationship issues, your prayer is to remember that you are love; therefore you can love.  If you are faced with health challenges, your prayer is to tap into the Divine energy of wholeness.  Release your “story” and embrace your glory.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, examine the situation you are praying about.  Find the spiritual quality that is seeking to emerge from the story.  Here are a few examples: money problems, pray to know your abundance; relationship issues, pray to know self love; work problems, pray to know your divine creativity; sickness and health challenges, pray to reveal your wholeness.  Take time to journal about your insights.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment… just for this breath, I declare my divine truth within every situation.  Every problem reveals God as a solution.  And so it is. Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 15 “The Practice that Unites Us”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 15 “The Practice that Unites Us”

Today’s Body Connection:  Understand that you are not the only one on this journey of transforming your body-temple.  You do not stand alone in your goals.  There are those who desire the same transformation you desire.  There are people who have bigger goals than you.  You want to drop ten pounds, while your neighbor wants to drop 25.  You have a wedding dress that you want to look amazing in, while there are million of brides with the same intention.  You have a pair of skinny jeans, and so do I.  If you could take a survey of your community I would bet that three-quarters of your neighbors have set the intention to feel better, look better, and improve the condition of their health.  If you have dropped 25 pounds, there is someone who you will meet that will be blessed by your experience.  Transformation is the one factor that we all have in common on some level.  Your journey will empower someone else who desires to be better.  Stay open and willing to help someone or look for that person that will inspire you to be the best you can be.

Meditative Thought: “Prayer is a tool that unites the world.” — Skip Jennings, “Spirit Explosion”                                                                                                                                                                                               Because we are one with the spirit of God, when you pray for someone else, you are praying for yourself.  With that in mind, we pray only for the highest good for everyone.  I am always looking for the opportunity to pray.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, search for opportunities to pray for someone; I know you will find them.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am aware of my oneness with the most high.  I sing a song only I can sing.  I am playing in the playground of the Universe where everyone is welcome.  When I speak a word for others, I bless myself.   And so it is.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 14 “Release and Let Go”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 14 “Release and Let Go”

Today’s Body Connection:  There comes a point in our transformation when we simply need to let go and let the Universe do its thing.  When you have done all you can and you feel stuck, let go of the control.  Let go of what you think you transformation needs to look like.  Let go of the outcome and allow the blessing to surprise you.  Yes, we set our goal weight, but we let go of how we will achieve it.  There are so many ways to drop the inches.  Yes, we want to be stronger, but strength-training comes in different packages.  When we finish working out, there needs to be a symbolic death of the physical practice so that transformation can truly take place.  In yoga, we call the hatha (movement) the practice, and the meditation the actual yoga.  The shavasana, or corpse pose, is the symbolic death of all the work that has come before.  The practice is over, let it go so that you may go out and live your transformation.

Meditative Thought: Affirmative Prayer Step 6 – Release:  Once you have said the prayer, you must release and let it go.  Release the prayer; allow God to be God.  We hold on to our prayers because we don’t have the faith that they will come to fruition.  As long as we hold on tight, the prayer can’t expand, it can’t breathe, it can’t grow.  It goes no further than your mouth.  Our prayers must fly into the cosmos.  “I let go and I let God,” is a mantra that I use all the time. Release is the first step toward serenity.  Turn your cares and worries over to God.  Release is true freedom.  It builds our faith.  We begin to believe that God is in control.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, begin to release your prayer into the Universe so that God can be God.  Journal your experiences. I would love to hear from you.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I release and I let God.  And so it is.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 11 “Unification with Your Higher Self”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 11 “Unification with Your Higher Self”

Today’s Body Connection:  Unification is all about your perception and awareness.  We can move through our day without ever acknowledging our higher self.  Have you ever finished a challenging workout and asked yourself, “Is that it?”  Or have you completed a goal, dropped the weight or dress size, and felt nothing or even worse than when you started? We can move from workout to workout feeling unfulfilled, not knowing why.  Our disappointment comes from the appearance of separation.  Unless we give the physical practice a deeper meaning, our journey can never fulfill us. Today, unify your workout with the Divine.  Every step you take and every squat you do is for the soul unfoldment.  Run with a purpose. Stretch to know your inner love.  Align our workout with an intention to expand your consciousness.

Meditative Thought: Affirmative Prayer Step 3 – Unification:  The unification stage is about awakening to our oneness with The Universe.  “God is, I am,” is a defining affirmation that helped me to expand my Unity consciousness.  During this step, I speak words like, “One Life, one sprit, one mind, one God,” and I know my life is one with God.  Reverend Kathleen McNamara from Agape says to stay in the unification step until you know that you are one with God.  Don’t move from this stage until, without a doubt, you can say that you and God are one.  When this unification awareness happens, you activate the power of the Universe.  The more you realize your oneness with God, the more you are able to activate Divine power in your life.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, activate the unification vibration in your life.  Speak the affirmation: “God is, I am” every hour on the hour until you know unification for sure.  During your workout, set the intention to know oneness with Love.  Journal your process at the end of your day.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, God is, I am and we are one. And so it is.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 10 “Divine Recognition”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 10 “Divine Recognition”

Today’s Body Connection:  We must find the divine within our workouts.  Yoga is the perfect example of the journey to know our higher self.  When we set the intention to see the miracles that is what we will experience.   During your workout, create a space for the Universe to show up.  Our physical practice is for the sole purpose of connecting with God.  Today, take a walk in nature with your heart wide open.  Run with the pure intention to see a blessing unfold as your life.  Lift your weights to know your inner strength.  Use your yoga class to realign your mind with your spirit.  It’s all connected; let’s operate from that awareness.

Meditative Thought: Affirmative Prayer Step 2 – Recognition:  The next step of the prayer treatment is Recognition.  Because God is everywhere present, this energy is governing the prayer.  God is the force that is everywhere, always active, all-powerful, and all-knowing.  The simple statement that “God is,” is recognition.  When we awaken to the fact that God is all-inclusive, we begin to see God everywhere.  God is all there is.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, actively recognize the activity of God.  This is a practice that requires work.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I recognize God to be all there is.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, and Gratitude – Day 9 “Gratitude”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, and Gratitude – Day 9 “Gratitude”

Today’s Body Connection:  Begin your workout within a space of gratitude.  If we use positive energy as the jumping-off point for transformation, we will find it easier to manifest the condition we seek.  Remember that gratitude is the highest appreciation for what is working in your life. Check in with your body-temple, find something that you know is working, and use that energy to propel your workout to a practice.  Everything is connected to our consciousness. The mental state in which we approach the practice is the place where we will end.  In other words, if our consciousness and minds are in alignment with success, all our goals will be golden.  Begin your workout with gratitude and you will see the blessing.

Meditative Thought: Affirmative Prayer Step 1 – Gratitude:  It is important to begin our prayer treatment with gratitude.  Gratitude is the highest vibration for manifestation.  If we begin our prayer with thanksgiving it sets the tone and it is always good to start everything in the highest vibrational field possible.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, begin your prayers with gratitude.  Set the tone and vibration of the prayer.  Feel the vibration.  As you workout, continue to pray from the place of appreciation.  Focus on keeping your gratitude field open and active throughout the day and at the end, journal about your experience.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am grateful for God.  I set the tone of my life with thanksgiving.  Gratitude is the order of my life.  And so it is.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 6 “Song of Prayer”

oDAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 6 “Song of Prayer”

Today’s Body Connection:  When you work out, try infusing your activity with music.  Music can up-level your consciousness while your transform your body.  During the fitness classes I teach, music is an essential element to the class.  Music helps to keep the rhythm and the pulse of the workout.  It can take your mind off the discomfort associated with exercise. The vibration of music can also elevate the energy of the workout session.  Music has a way of connecting with the heart chakra, allowing you to feel the energy of love.  During your next training session, mindfully choose music that will assist you with the work you have said yes to.

Meditative Thought: Singing is the same as praying twice.  The lyrics send out a vibration, accompanied by the vibrations of the melody.  Whenever you sing, your vibration is lifted to new heights.  The music helps to anchor our spirit.  Every song has a message.  What song do you sing?

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, sing your prayers.  It doesn’t matter if you think you can sing or not; it’s about your intentions to elevate your consciousness.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, “Sing, sing a song, make it simple to last the whole day long.  Don’t worry that it’s not good enough for anyone else to hear, just sing, sing a song.”  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 5 “Higher Communication”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 5 “Higher Communication”

Today’s Body Connection:  What is the body?  This is the question that we must answer and remember on a daily basis.  The body is a temple for your spirit.  We must come to the realization that we are more than just bones and muscles and that our purpose expands far beyond what we can see.  When we truly know who and what we are, transformation becomes a priority.  We must take care of our body-temple so that we may do the work that we have said yes to.  The practice of good stewardship of this gift called life is a sacred act; let’s not take it lightly.

Meditative Thought: When is a good time for prayer?  Prayer is our communication with our inner spirit, our time with God.  Prayer is our anchor in the rocky sea of life.  Our spiritual work should be centered on praying without ceasing.  It’s not easy, but it will expand or consciousness.  Because we are one with the Universe we have a choice about how we approach every situation.  We can show up as the Divine, and speak the words that affirm that connection.  Remember, you are God speaking to God, words from God, to God.  It’s about your awareness.  Every moment can be a moment of constant communication with Spirit.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, let’s be mindful of what we say, how we say it, and to whom we are saying it.  Be in constant prayer.  Speak words that uplift vibrations.  Take the time to meditate on your experience.  See what new insights arise for you.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I speak only words that uplift my mind, body, and spirit.  And so it is.

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 3 “Affirmative Language in Use”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 3 “Affirmative Language in Use”

Today’s Body Connection:  When you work out, what is the language you use?  What words fuel your workout?  “Yes I can” or “Oh no, not again”?  Our language and thoughts coagulate into our existence; we must be aware of what we say as we work out.   Our words can either assist us or block us from our goals.  The practice is not only to work the body, but we must also be willing to empower the workout with a strong mental and verbal practice.  As we speak words that empower, we will see a shift and the body will move with grace and power like never before.

Meditative Thought: Why Affirmative Prayer?  Prayer is our spiritual thoughts, and thoughts create our existence.  If we believe that The Universe is out to get us, then that becomes our truth.  If we declare our separation from The Divine and live as a victim, we deem ourselves as powerless.  Affirmative prayer is a tool to shift our consciousness from victim to Victor.  Prayer is a way to return our mind and our thinking back to God.  The prodigal son only remains the prodigal son as long as he wants.  He always had the power to return home.  Prayer is our road map home.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, consciously release the victim mentality and begin living life as a victory.  At the end of your day, take time to journal your experience.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment… just for this breath, I pray to shift.  I am a Victor and I release the victim.  And so I am.  And so I let it be.  Amen

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 2 “The Affirmative”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 2 “The Affirmative”

Today’s Body Connection:  During your physical practice, what is it that you hope to achieve?  What are your desires?  What is the intention?  In other words, how would you like to feel after your workout? We must constantly check in with our self; self-exploration is the key when transforming the body-temple.  It is our hopes and desires that will carry us from point A to point B, and we must keep the faith that transformation is possible and that our goals are achievable.  Hope is the answer when your current condition looks unchangeable.  We must keep that little spark of light at the forefront of every session.  No matter what your weight-loss goal is — five, ten, or even 15 pounds — stay with it; you can do it!

Meditative Thought: Most people believe in God, a Universal force that governs our existence.  Prayer is a way to access and commune with that energy.  I used to pray to a God outside myself, asking and beseeching a gray, old father figure for the desires of my heart.  Now I understand that God is within each and every being.  I am one with this all-powerful force.  I pray with an understanding that I am one with the source of life.  I use a form of praying called, “Affirmative Prayer.”  Instead of begging for something, affirmative prayer states the truth of life.  Affirmative prayer declares our unification with God.  I believe we have everything we need.  Affirmative prayer is a tool to anchor that belief.  It is no longer whom I am praying to, it is where I am praying from.  I am praying from a place of knowing that I am Love, Joy, Abundance, Wholeness, Peace, Order, Balance, Gratitude, Oneness, and Compassion.  Affirmative prayer is a prayer field anchored by the universe, immersed in God.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, during your prayer time, practice affirmative prayer.  Speak the truth of who you are.  Say, “I am Abundance, Love, Joy, Grace, Compassion, Creativity, Wholeness, and Prosperity.”  Take the time to journal your feelings and the vibration affirmative prayer gives you.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment… just for this breath, my life is the life of God and I am one with all Divine qualities.  And so I let it be.  Amen
