Skip’s Weekend Affirmation + Bonus Body Connection – Transformational Commitment

This Weekend’s affirmation has a bonus Body Connection.

As we begin our journey of transformation, there must be a commitment to embrace growth and a willingness to be better. There are four elements of fitness that are required: cardio, strength, flexibility, and mindful eating.

Sometimes we get one or two of these requirements going, but we have not committed to all four and our transformation is slow-moving.   I encourage my clients to have an “all in and all out” attitude. We commit to being all in to win and we go for the goal all out; we don’t hold back. Remember, what we put in to transformation is what we get out of it.

This weekend’s affirmation:

Just for this moment… just for this breath, I commit to the transformation within my soul. Amen

Skip’s Weekend Affirmation + Bonus Body Connection – With God’s Eyes

I truly believe that a balance between our spiritual and our physical being is essential for living your life to its biggest potential. That’s why this Weekend’s affirmation has a bonus Body Connection.

Body Connection

What do you see when you look in the mirror? Do you see someone who is broken, unhappy, and in need of a shift? That is only the external representation of what you are feeling. When we work from a place of brokenness, it is more challenging to find a place of self-love. The truth is, we work out to know more love within our being.

During your workouts, see yourself the way God sees you. The Universe only knows your divine spirit and perfection. Our only connection to God is the absolute presence and essence of Love. If we wait until we reach our goal to experience that connection, the journey will be long and filled with ups and downs. We can begin our physical transformation with the sight of the divine and see ourselves with eyes of love, kindness, and compassion.

This weekend’s affirmation:

Just for this moment…just for this breath, I remember that I am the divine expression of God and all of its qualities. And so I am. Amen

Blessings.

Skip’s Weekend Affirmation + Bonus Body Connection – God Revealing

This Weekend’s affirmation will have a bonus Body Connection. I truly believe that a balance between our spiritual and our physical being is essential for living your life to its biggest potential. Remember, the body-temple is the God in the flesh and deserves to be treated as such. When we choose to exercise, we choose to play in the field of God.

When we begin to activate our internal strength in our physical practice, we allow the Universe to express itself fully. It’s not only the mind and the spirit that requires a practice to grow; the body is in need of work for its edification, too.

God wants to express it self in every way; allow each workout to be an expression of what is going on inside of you. Bottom line, move your body, be it a walk, a climb, yoga, spinning whatever your movement it will power both the spirit and body.

That said, here’s this weekend’s affirmation:

Just for this moment…just for this breath, I remember that I am bathed in God’s love and I am blessed. Amen

Have a wonderful and safe weekend.

Skip’s Body Connection and Affirmation – The Practice of Love

This week’s Body Connection we’ll focus on Yoga as it relates to our theme, The Practice of Love.Skip's The Power Of Love in Yoga

Physical practice is a form of self-love and to feel the vibration of Joy that lives within our soul.  The word “yoga” means to yoke or to bring together two things that appear to be separate.

This week, get physical, move, dance and connect this “yoke” to the spiritual and set your intention to elevate your love and joy vibrations.

“The Practice Of Love” Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am the love energy that blesses the planet.  I move from a place of love and my life is good.  And so it is.

Peace and blessings,

Friday Body Connection and Affirmation – Remember to Remember

Woman swimming in a poolWhen deciding on a workout or routine, choose workouts that help focus your body connection intentions. If you set the goal to be the best you can be, choose a practice that anchors the intention. The physical should always be in alignment with the mental and spiritual goals. Set the intention to always remember your truth.

Friday Affirmation:  Friday’s are a great day for me as I take a moment to reflect and affirm.

Just for this moment…just for this breath, the qualities of God is my life.  I “remember to remember” my purpose.

Peace and blessings,

Friday Affirmation and Body Connection – Revamping Routines

The beginning of the year is an excellent time to think about revamping routines from your training regime. Keep boredom away and stay fresh by willing to go within and asking yourself what’s missing in your fitness goals?

When we refresh, we renew the way we train our body-temples and infinite possibilities become our truth. There are many pathways to wholeness; be willing to shift directions and grow.

Affirmation:  Find your quiet moment and take a few breathes and as you exhale meditate that you are a new experience in the mind of God.  Your life is a fresh idea that blesses the planet.  Amen.

Friday Affirmation and Body Connection – Setting Intentions

As we mentioned earlier in the week, January is a natural month for setting new intentions in our lives. This also includes setting intentions for the body. To set this intention you must be willing to declare what condition you are looking to achieve. This transformation does not necessarily have to do with weight, but how you view your body temple. Setting intentions and the quest in transformation begins with setting this goal. Remember this truth: an external shift is temporary but an internal transformation is lasting. This year, focus on setting these internal intentions to embrace your desires. Be open to receiving and recognizing your wholeness, divinity, and self-love.

This week’s Affirmation:  Take a moment out of your schedule and begin with 2-3 deep breathes. Breathe in deeply and then slowly release. On the last one, exhale deeply and imagine yourself pushing the restart in your mind to create a new spiritual journey.

Peace and Blessings

Friday Affirmation and Body Connection – Celebrating the Light

This week we prepared for the holidays with a focus on “Celebrating The Light” as our Meditation and Action plan. We end the week by taking that meditation message further with our Body Connection.

The Need To Move!

To really begin celebrating the light we need to move. So let’s move, shake, and take that dance, yoga, spin or  jogging class. That’s right, NO more excuses, because there will ALWAYS be a reason not to go. ALWAYS. As a trainer and fitness instructor for 20+ years I’ve heard it all and the most common excuse that people give for not working out is, “I have no time”.

Brothers and sisters, let me be straight with you….Time isn’t the problem; it’s the management of it that’s the problem. Have you heard yourself say this, “When I feel better I will start to work out.” The problem with this excuse is the fact that it is in the future, not the present. Unless of course you are suffering a 102F fever or under a doctors orders to limit exercise, then please stay home. Otherwise take a minute to circle “one day” on the calendar;

Commit

On this “One day” you commit to not jump ship. So say with me….It’s time to stop making excuses and get moving. I LOVE this quote by Wayne Gretzky, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take“. If we begin to live a better life, we begin taking those shots and sure we’ll miss some, but we also will make some too. The time to make the shots is today. Allow your inner light to shine. No more excuses.

This week’s Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath…..breathe… taking in the message and exhale…..breathe again and say to yourself I am the experience of Light that is my being. God’s Presence fuels my life and I am a blessing to all I meet and today I begin making my shots.

Peace and Blessings,

Friday Affirmation and Body Connection – Saying Yes

Have you said yes to your health? When we say yes to health and fitness, we say yes to letting our inner light shine. But before we head on out to tackle the sport or gym of our choice, take that time to prepare. Just like you wouldn’t go on a marathon run the first time out or begin a hard workout without a warm-up properly prep.

Prepare your mind and body for the journey of transformation

Prepping your mind is important in your journey of transformation. For example, if you decide that running or walking is your preferred form of exercise, then begin by choosing an area to run or walk that is pleasing to you. Research the different routes and paths you can take even the type of paths, grass, trail, asphalt, track etc…. Plus equip yourself by investing in a good pair of running shoes, and running gear. If yoga is your choice of exercise, get your own yoga mat, towels etc to help you have the best experience possible. If you are looking for a gym, find the place that speaks to you, and ask yourself, can I be here? Does it feel like a community? Not every workout place is the right one for you, so don’t settle. Preparation like a good warm-up means giving yourself the best opportunity to shine and be successful.

Our Affirmation: Just for this moment…just for this breath, Identify yourself with the Light within, and allow it to catch fire and shine bright. And so it is. Amen

Peace and blessings,

Friday Affirmation and Body Connection – The Affirmative

Body Connection

Greetings from Atlanta, where I am presenting at Empower Fitness. This week we covered the action plan of affirmative prayer and with it an understanding that you are one with the source of life. When transforming our body-temple our hopes and desires carry us from point A to point B. During this process one must keep faith that transformation is possible and that your goals are achievable. By keeping hope it reinforces that little spark of light at the forefront of every session. Remember that no matter what your physical goal is; weight-loss, resistance training, yoga advancement, jogging distance, or a marathon— stay with it; you can do it!

This week’s affirmation: Take a moment and reflect that your life is the life of God and that you are one with all Divine qualities. So breathe and reflect these qualities taking a moment and let it be. Amen

Have a terrific weekend!
