DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: “Remember” Day 5 – “With God’s Eyes ”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: “Remember” Day 5 – “With God’s Eyes ”

The Body Connection:  Remember, as you begin your workout program, what do you see when you look in the mirror?  Do you see someone who is broken, unhappy, and in need of a shift?  That is only the external representation of what you are feeling.  When we work from a place of brokenness, it is more challenging to find a place of self-love.  The truth is, we work out to know more love within our being.  During your workouts, see yourself the way God sees you.  The Universe only knows your divine spirit and perfection.  Our only connection to God is the absolute presence and essence of Love.  If we wait until we reach our goal to experience that connection, the journey will be long and filled with ups and downs.  We can begin our physical transformation with the sight of the divine and see ourselves with eyes of love, kindness, and compassion.

Meditative Thought:  The Universe does not see our human flaws and mishaps; God only knows itself as love, joy, peace, order, balance, prosperity, and abundance.  When you begin to see yourself as anything other than Love, you are blaspheming God and God’s creation.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, remember to see yourself with God’s eyes.  There is nothing that God sees but the Love; today, move from that place.  In everything you do, move with the Love of God shining as you.  You are blessed, so be mindful of the truth.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I remember that I am the divine expression of God and all of its qualities.  And so I am.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: “Remember” Day 1 – “You Are the Light of God ”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: “Remember” Day 1 – “You Are the Light of God ”

The Body Connection:  Remember, when you exercise the body-temple, you radiate a glowing light.  Your aura shines a brightness that everyone can see.  Have you ever run into someone after a great workout and their response been something like, “You look amazing!” or “You’re glowing!”?  That is your light of God shining through and as you, activated be your physical practice.  When you get your blood moving and elevate your heart rate, there is a natural radiance of heath and fitness that cannot be denied.  Today, get your eternal glow by participating in your physical practice.

Meditative Thought:  You are a gift to this planet and you have said yes to a mission that only you can do.  The Universe supports your vision, so step out and boldly approach your destiny.  Bring God’s light through your gifts and talents. Let your light shine.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, remember that you are the light of God and that you are meant to let that light shine.   Take a breath, be still, and contemplate what it means to shine your light as God.  Morning, noon, and night take five to ten minutes to meditate and cultivate the light that is you.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I remember that I am the light of God and I shine brightly everywhere I go.  And so I am.

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: Surrendering – Day 28 “Surrender to Challenges”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: Surrendering – Day 28 “Surrender to Challenges”

The Body Connection:  Working out is a challenge that is required to achieve the goal of fitness.  But it can be enjoyed if we surrender to it.  As long as we fight the process we will always see the challenge as nothing else but work.  One way to surrender is to change the “have to” to “get to.”  We get to play to create a healthy vehicle to do God’s work.  We get to honor our sacred commitment to be the best we can be.  The truth is that every pushup, squat, lunge, mile run or walked is the physical practice of getting better, faster, stronger and more powerful.  During the workout you might feel weak, but have faith: a strengthening of the mind, body, and spirit is taking place.  It the process of breaking down that will lead to your breakthrough.

Meditative Thought: Mentally and spiritually, we need to hit bottom, stop digging, and surrender to the fight before our transformation can happen.  It is the raw feeling of defeat that brings us to a place of surrender.  Sometimes it takes a spiritual beat down, a divine tenderizing of the soul, to prepare us for transformation.  It is when we are most vulnerable that can we hear the voice of God.  Until we have nothing else to fight with, a true transformation cannot happen. We must truly see the need for a shift to happen to allow it to happen.  What appears to be our greatest challenge becomes our greatest invitation to change.  Surrender to the challenges in your life; your breakdown will lead to a breakthrough.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, bless the mess.  Choose to see God in the midst of all your challenges.  Journal and list everything that you think is a messy situation in your life, and then ask the Universe, “Where is there a need for change here?”  Journal your answer and be willing to take action.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I bless the mess.  My challenges are divine and blessed with my intentions to be great.  My eyes are open and I see God.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: Surrendering – Day 21 “Fully Committed”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: Surrendering – Day 21 “Fully Committed”

The Body Connection:  When we think of the main components of fitness, we must remember stretching.  A fully committed practice incorporates not just the part we like but every element: cardio, strength training, mindful eating, and stretching.  After working the body we must remember that stretching not only helps the healing, but it also allows our limbs to have a greater range of motion.  I call stretching the appetizer and the desert of fitness. A divine stretch should sandwich each workout.  Upon waking, a large glass of water and a morning stretch are a great way to start your day.  One of the greatest tools for stretching is Yoga, the physical preparation for meditation; but remember, you do not have to attend a yoga class to practice yoga.  Any time is a good time for a downward dog.  If you want a body-temple that moves with ease and grace, commit to increasing its flexibility.  Jump in fully and surrender to every aspect that is required to be fit; stretching is the key that can open the door to a new way of life.

Meditative Thought: Reverend Cheryl Ward once said to me, “You cannot jump into the river and get a little wet.”  We must understand that we can’t just play in the river of life a little.  Once we have said yes, we must fully commit to the journey.  When we have one foot in the door and one foot out, we create a life of confusion and frustration.  God is calling us to a place of full surrender.  Because our life is the life of Spirit, let go and let God be your life.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, jump into the river and begin to swim with the stroke of devotion.  Fully commit to your practice, whether it be physical, mental, or spiritual.  Fully surrender and jump in with no hesitation.  Move with a full heart.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I jump into the ocean of devotion and I am wet with God’s love.  And so it is.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT: Surrendering – Day 16 “Water Flowing”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT:  Surrendering – Day 16 “Water Flowing”

The Body Connection:  Good health is like a flowing river of water.  Once it gets going, it’s hard to stop it, but the goal is to get it going.  Like water, health and fitness surrounds us.  When you say yes to a healthier way of life, God shows up.  Be open to a life filled with well-being and allow the Universe to support you.  When your consciousness is in alignment with fitness, you will see it everywhere you go.  You will have ample opportunity to play in the field of health.  Just say yes to turn on the fountain and bring a big cup.

Meditative Thought: God’s love and blessings are always flowing; we only need to be still and surrender to the moment.  Like a fountain that is always flowing, blessings and divine gifts are constantly ready to pour forth, but I control the faucet. I can turn the water on a little or full force; the control comes from my consciousness.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, surrender to the flow of God, allowing the waters to run free.  Ask the Universe where and how you need to participate in your practices of fitness.  During a time of contemplative meditation, allow Spirit to support and anchor your decision to be healthy.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I surrender to the flow of God.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT: Surrendering – Day 15 “Commune With Your Higher Self”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT:  Surrendering – Day 15 “Commune With Your Higher Self”

The Body Connection:  The number one reason that transformation becomes an unpleasant experience is that it does not have a divine connection or purpose.  It doesn’t matter what form of exercise we do; if it does not have real meaning, it becomes a chore.  When working out, commune with your higher self.  A bicep curl or a lunge is much more effective when done for a deeper reason than to fit into your skinny jeans.  Yes, looking good is a motivation, but there has to be more.  As we begin to know our true inner spirit, our reasoning for taking care of our body becomes greater than the desire for a smaller dress size; it’s because we understand who and what we are and that we are worth all of the hard work.

Meditative Thought: We go to God to commune with God; nothing else.  When we surrender to a daily practice of deep fellowship with Spirit, our life has meaning.  Communion with God is the greatest spiritual tool we can incorporate within our lives.  Everything we do has a divine purpose; we only need to fellowship with the Universe to know it.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, bless your journey with a deep fellowship.  During your exercise recovery time, remind yourself that you do this because of who you are.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I bless my journey with a deep fellowship in the Spirit.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT: Surrendering – Day 14 “Surrender to Seeing Love”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT:  Surrendering – Day 14 “Surrender to Seeing Love”

The Body Connection:  The daily physical practice of exercise can be challenging until we surrender to love. Find an exercise regimen that speaks to you.  Take the time to explore the different opportunities to strengthen your body-temple.  There are so many options, like yoga, dancing, weight training, Pilates, walking, and/or running, but you have to find one you like.   When your physical practice becomes a chore, there is a higher probability that you won’t stick to it.  You can’t win if you are not in.  It is the energy of love that will keep you active and committed.

Meditative Thought: God only knows Love; therefore all blessings come from a place of Love.  Each situation is a reminder of Love or an invitation to surrender to Love.  Focus on finding the highest consciousness in your exercise time.  If it’s a challenge, ask the Universe to make itself known to you.  The Love is present everywhere; we just need to open our eyes.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, surrender to the practice of seeing Love.  Set the intention to find the Divine in the physical.  Every time you are aware of Love, make a record of it in your journal.  When life throws you a loop, refer to your list.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I surrender my life to Love.  I am open and available to seeing the Universal flow as I transform my life.  And so it is.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT: Surrendering – Day 12 “Surrender and Forgive”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT:  Surrendering – Day 12 “Surrender and Forgive”

The Body Connection:  It’s time to start again.  So what, you fell off your diet and you haven’t worked out in days.  It’s time to forgive yourself and move on.  When we choose to transform the body, there will always be successes and challenging times.  It does not matter if you fall, it maters that you get up and keep trying.  The body is a temple, housing your essence.  It needs your daily practice.  Health and fitness is your birthright and it is time to claim it.  Surrender your self-sabotage, forgive your shortcomings, and push the restart button.

Meditative Thought: Unforgiveness blocks of the flow of God within our lives.  The only thing holding us back from the fullness of the Universal flow is our inability to forgive others and ourselves.  Transformation begins with love.  We have two choices: we can love ourselves through the transformation or continue to beat ourselves up.  The choice is ours.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, examine the areas of your life that are in need of forgiveness.  Make the decision to release and move on.  As you explore your life, journal about what you find.  It’s important to remove all your mental and spiritual blocks so your body’s transformation is filled with ease and grace.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I stand in the spirit of grace and I am forgiven.  My body is the living expression of the Universe.  Amen

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGET: 31 Days of Surrendering to God – Day 10 “Surrender to the Stillness”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGET:  31 Days of Surrendering to God – Day 10 “Surrender to the Stillness”

Meditative Thought: We can only truly know God in the stillness.  Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God.”  The Psalmist had the experience that God would be known in the quiet time of meditation.  Our recognition of God is deepened through our time spent in the stillness.  We must surrender to the practice of knowing and experiencing God through the silence.

Today’s Spiritual Assignment:  Today, surrender to the activity of knowing God and allow it to be your first priority.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I stand on holy ground and my journey is blessed.  Amen

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGET: 31 Days of Surrendering to God – Day 9 “Reaching God”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGET:  31 Days of Surrendering to God – Day 9 “Reaching God”

Meditative Thought:  Joel S. Goldsmith says, “You cannot reach God through your mind.” When I read this, I instantly understood its meaning: we can only experience God.  When we think about who God is, we always come up short.  In our human incarnation we can only conceive God as our past thoughts, teaching, and an idea of what we think God is.  Our thoughts and imagination can never create an accurate description of God.  God is an incorporeal being that can only be accessed through the invisible practice of prayer and meditation. The truth is a “God experience” is always new and fresh.  There comes a moment in our journey when we stop thinking about who God is and begin to experience what God is.

Today’s Spiritual Assignment:  Today, free your mind of the “Who” and experience the “What.” Whenever there is a quest, consciously return to the “what” question.  The answer is always God.  When life seems a little interesting, slow down and breathe the question, “What is seeking to emerge?”

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I know that God is love; therefore I am love.  And so it is.  Amen
