DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Celebrating Light – Day 9 “The Light That Activates Joy”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Celebrating Light – Day 9 “The Light That Activates Joy”

Today’s Body Connection:  Every exercise and every training session’s sole purpose are to activate your inner light. This energy is a field of joy that can be felt and that inspires everyone that comes in contact with you.  Realign your intention to activate Joy.  When doing your workout, aim to experience the divine quality of Joy so that it can be passed on.  The work you do in your personal practice can and will affect the collective.

Today’s Meditative Thought:  When we understand our Oneness in God, Joy is activated.  The Law of Energy states that everything is energy.  Our thoughts, perceptions, and consciousness are all forms of energy.  Our thoughts, intentions, and language create the divine energy of Joy.  The physical practice is being aware of the energy we produce in our lives.  We will be conscious of the Light when we choose the high vibrations that activate Joy.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, be aware of the vibration and the energy that you invite into your consciousness.

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am a tuning fork for the God vibration that elevates my soul.  And so I am.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Celebrating Light – Day 8 “The Power of the Light”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Celebrating Light – Day 8 “The Power of the Light”

Today’s Body Connection:  The solution to injury is rest.  That old saying, “no pain, no gain,” is a myth.   Injuries are always an invitation for you to slow down.  The body will always tell you exactly what you need and when you need it; you only have to listen.  The power for you to heal yourself comes from the practice of stillness.  You need to stop what you are doing so the body may heal.

Today’s Meditative Thought: The power of the Light heals any and all disease.  When we recognize the perfectness of God, we begin to understand that there are no problems in the Light.  It takes the practice of prayer, meditation, service, and sacred study to truly know what the light is. The first step is to recognize the true qualities of God and to understand that we are one in each and every quality. The only quality left is absolute peace, and that is the power that heals.  Let’s celebrate the Light of God that restores all issues and human problems to peace. Understand that the only thing that is real within us is the Universal Presence; the rest is a facade with the appearance of lack, limitation, doubt, fear, and deception.  The real power is allowing our consciousness to open and see beyond appearances.  Go within yourself and cultivate the power of God.  You are not divided from the One; you are the One expanding itself every moment and with every breath.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, put into practice the principles that will allow you to see beyond the appearances of negativity.  Commit to prayer, meditation, affirmations, sacred study, generosity, and fellowship that activate the “oneness consciousness” within your life.

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am one with the Power of the Light and all areas of my life are Holy and blessed. And so it is.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Celebrating Light – Day 6 “Let Your Light Shine”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Celebrating Light – Day 6 “Let Your Light Shine”

Today’s Body Connection:  One of the most common questions I’m asked is, “What should I do first: cardio or strength?” My answer is whatever you dislike the most, do it first and get it out-of-the-way.   If cardio is your favorite, your energy is always greater when you are participating in that activity.  When you do something you love you will let your inner light shine.  End your workout with a high vibration and you will feel successful.

Today’s Meditative Thought:  “This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine…”  What a great song, but it is a challenging song for me to sing with the lyrics as is.  There is nothing little about the Light that is shinning.  The light is everything, everywhere present, always active.  The only thing that is little is our consciousness of the Light.  Once there is spiritual growth and we begin to recognize God, we begin to see the Light everywhere.  We begin to understand that there is nowhere the Divine is not.  When we use the word “Omni,” we declare that there is only one.  The Omnipresence of the Light is a statement that God shines everywhere. We must allow the Light to be the biggest awareness within our lives. So, “This big light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine…”

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, notice where your light is small and allow it to be the biggest thing in your consciousness.

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, the light of my life is large and in charge.  With a massive awareness, I live, move, and have my being in God.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Celebrating Light – Day 5 “Bringing the Darkness to the Light”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Celebrating Light – Day 5 “Bringing the Darkness to the Light”

Today’s Body Connection:  Sometimes a plateau in your workout regime can have the appearance of stagnation. These periods in our lives can appear to be dark and ineffective.  The truth of the matter is you only need new ideas about how to push past this stage.  H.I.I.T. stands for high intensity interval training and it is the format that professional athletes use to stay in shape.  It’s when you push yourself at a high intensity for a short period of time, and then you recover, repeating the intervals several times.  When you work at a high level, you burn more calories for a shorter period of time.  H.I.I.T. training will give you a sense of how powerful and amazing you are.  You will activate a new frame of mind and energize your workouts. If you are looking to revamp your physical practice, try incorporating interval training one to two days a week.  This shift in your training is the light you require to push past the “flat land.” Activate your radiance in the dark areas with a new way of exercising the body-temple.

Today’s Meditative Thought: We cannot bring Light to the dark places.  It is the Light that is desired in one’s heart.  We become influenced by the Divine Presence to transform our lives.  It can be a person, place, song, or book that inspires change, but, ultimately, we must be willing to go on the journey of transformation ourselves.  As we begin to say yes to the journey, the path becomes lighter.  As we move down the road of enlightenment, we begin to know that the Light was always there; we just didn’t know it.  The Illuminated life is a journey of attraction; God does not need promotion.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, recognize where the Light is calling for transformation in your life.  Be willing to travel the road of enlightenment.  Be aware of the dark areas in your life being illuminated with God.  Take the time to journal your experience of awakening.

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I walk boldly on the path of enlightenment and my pathway is bright, infused with the Light.

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Celebrating Light – Day 4 “Surrendering to the Light”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Celebrating Light – Day 4 “Surrendering to the Light”

Today’s Body Connection:  The physical practice can be achieved in so many ways.  One option is sports.  Think of the one sports activity you loved when you where in school: football, basketball, volleyball, or swimming. Revisit that sport and commit to doing it once a week.  You don’t have to join a gym; you can find regional sports teams through your YMCA, church, or community center.  Don’t limit your options to just the traditional ideas of working out.  Get out of the box and begin to play again.   When you find the activity that brings you joy, you open the gateway to letting your light shine, and shine bright!

Today’s Meditative Thought:  Once we begin to recognize and understand the Light, we are called to surrender to its will.  The purpose of the Light is to expand and to know more of itself.  Each one of us is an expansion of the Light.  The challenge is that we have forgotten this.  Everyone is an incarnation of the Universal Presence, here to express more of the Light.  Surrendering to the will of God is turning our life over to a divine purpose of sharing Love, Joy, Compassion, Oneness, Abundance, and Grace in every situation in our lives.  When we surrender, we now have a purpose, a calling, and our existence has meaning.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, surrender to the Light.  Set the intention to share God wherever you go.  Give your existence meaning.  Create a mantra that elevates your purpose upon the planet.  Before you head out to start your day, speak the words that will fuel your life: “I set the intention to share God everywhere I am.”

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am the Light that shines wherever I am.  I am the blessing that lights the planet and my life has meaning.  And so it is.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Celebrating Light – Day 3 “What Is Light?”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Celebrating Light – Day 3 “What Is Light?”

Today’s Body Connection:  No more excuses.  What are you waiting for?  There will always be a reason not to begin your physical practice.  The most common excuse that people give for not working out is a lack of time.  Time is all we have; it’s the management of it that is the problem.  “When I feel better I will start to work out.”  The problem with that excuse is the fact that it is in the future, not the present.  If you stand in that delusion, you will never be strong enough.  Take a minute to circle “one day” on the calendar; you can’t.  It’s time to stop making excuses and get moving.  Our biggest fear is not failure; it’s success.  If we begin to live a better life, we will have to do better.  If we transform our lives, we have no more excuses for not living life to the fullest.  The time is today.  Allow your inner light to shine.  No more excuses.

Today’s Meditative Thought:  When celebrating the Light, we must ask ourselves what is Light? In my own experience and understanding, the Light is God, the One Power, the One Mind, the One Presence that I call Love.  The Light is everything, everywhere active, and is within us all.  The qualities of the Light are always, joy, compassion, power, abundance, grace, and prosperity.  The Light can only to be seen when we are willing to perceive it.  It gives off such an illuminating presence that it is an undeniable, unmistakable likeness that can only be explained as a miraculous presence felt deep within the heart.  This divine Light can only be experienced with an open heart.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, open your heart and be willing to experience the Light.  During your meditation focus on feeling the Light instead of thinking about what it is.  Be open to having an experiential experience instead of an intellectual one.

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am the experience of Light that is my being.  The God Presence fuels my life and I am a blessing to all I meet.

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Celebrating Light – Day 2 “Identifying With the Light”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 31 Days of Celebrating Light – Day 2 “Identifying With the Light”

Today’s Body Connection:  When we say yes to health and fitness, we say yes to letting our inner light shine, but it takes preparation.  We must prepare our minds and our bodies for the journey of transformation.  If you decide that running or walking is your preferred form of exercise, choose an area to run or walk that is pleasing to you.  Research the different routes and paths you can take.  Invest in a good pair of running shoes, and you also might want to purchase running gear.  If yoga is your choice of exercise, buy your own yoga mat to help you have the best experience possible.  If you are looking for a gym, find the place that speaks to you.  Not every workout place is the right one for you.  Preparation means giving yourself the best opportunity to shine and be successful.

Today’s Meditative Thought: Malcolm X once said, “A man must stand for something or he will fall for anything.”  What do you stand for?  What do you identify with?  Do you identify with your job, the size of your home, or the size of your bank account?  These are all nice things to have, but they are an illusion, a false God that we have created to give our lives meaning.  The truth is our true identity is the One Presence, the One Mind, and the Universal Power of Love.  We must put into practice prayer, meditation, fellowship, and service that cultivate the “oneness consciousness” within our lives.  Once we know that there is no separation between God and us, we become free to identify with the light that lives within.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, begin to identify with the God that lives within you.  Every moment remind yourself that you are one with Mother, Father, God.  Create an affirmation that reminds you of the “oneness consciousness.”

Today’s Affirmation:
Just for this moment…just for this breath, I identity with the Light within, and I allow it to shine bright.  And so it is.  Amen

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 27 “Oneness”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 27 “Oneness”

Today’s Body Connection:  Oneness is the energy of unity, connection to all things.  When we work out we must be willing to see the connection of the mind, body, and spirit.  A mindful training session is one that effectively uses the mind and the spirit to help you achieve the physical task at hand.  We can either zone out while we train, mindlessly moving weights, prone to injury, or we can exercise with the awareness of breathing, movement, and how our body feels.  Mindfulness brings your self back to the present moment.  Do not lose focus; stay awake and keep the unity consciousness alive.

Meditative Thought: Yoga is the practice of yoking together two things that appear to be different, like strength training and stretching your mind and body.  During the practice there comes a time when you become aware that there is no separation of the two, only the unique expression of “The One.”  Our prayer time is our commitment to know the power of God that is our lives.  This communion with the Universal presence elevates our awareness that our life is the life of God; there is no separation.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, meditate on your oneness with God.  Spend time in deep contemplation to up level your consciousness.    Take at least ten minutes and be more aware of your connection to your higher self.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am the unique expression of the oneness presence of God.  And so I am.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 14 “Release and Let Go”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 14 “Release and Let Go”

Today’s Body Connection:  There comes a point in our transformation when we simply need to let go and let the Universe do its thing.  When you have done all you can and you feel stuck, let go of the control.  Let go of what you think you transformation needs to look like.  Let go of the outcome and allow the blessing to surprise you.  Yes, we set our goal weight, but we let go of how we will achieve it.  There are so many ways to drop the inches.  Yes, we want to be stronger, but strength-training comes in different packages.  When we finish working out, there needs to be a symbolic death of the physical practice so that transformation can truly take place.  In yoga, we call the hatha (movement) the practice, and the meditation the actual yoga.  The shavasana, or corpse pose, is the symbolic death of all the work that has come before.  The practice is over, let it go so that you may go out and live your transformation.

Meditative Thought: Affirmative Prayer Step 6 – Release:  Once you have said the prayer, you must release and let it go.  Release the prayer; allow God to be God.  We hold on to our prayers because we don’t have the faith that they will come to fruition.  As long as we hold on tight, the prayer can’t expand, it can’t breathe, it can’t grow.  It goes no further than your mouth.  Our prayers must fly into the cosmos.  “I let go and I let God,” is a mantra that I use all the time. Release is the first step toward serenity.  Turn your cares and worries over to God.  Release is true freedom.  It builds our faith.  We begin to believe that God is in control.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, begin to release your prayer into the Universe so that God can be God.  Journal your experiences. I would love to hear from you.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I release and I let God.  And so it is.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 13 “Thanksgiving”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 13 “Thanksgiving”

Today’s Body Connection:  Like we start the practice; finish with the same attitude gratefulness and thanksgiving.  We can simple be grateful that the workout is over or that we went a little further then we intended to go.  Just be thankful.  We can appreciate that our body is working well enough to workout or that we can afford a trainer or a gym membership.  There is always something to be grateful for. When we appreciate what we have or what we have done, it always enough.  When we forget to be thankful, we are always looking for more.

Meditative Thought: Affirmative Prayer Step 5 – Thanksgiving:  Meister Eckhart wrote, “If the only Prayer you said in your life was ‘Thank You,’ that would suffice.”  This stage moves us into faith; faith that it is done.  Thank you is that overwhelming appreciation for God and its infinite expression of giving.  The more we say thank you, the more we have to be thankful for.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, say thank you every chance you get.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am grateful.  Amen
