DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 12 “What Do You Know?”

Today’s Body Connection:  Our workouts will lead to a deep knowing or realization, if we are open to discovery.  The journey of transformation is the path to a deeper knowledge of ourselves.  My favorite question that Oprah has ever asked is, “What do you know for sure?”  Can we truly list all the things we know for sure?  What do you know about your body-temple? What were you created to do?  Do you know your own power and strength? Today, during your workout, contemplate the question, “What do I truly know about my body, mind, and spirit?” Expect the answer to come from within and all will be revealed.

Meditative Thought: Affirmative Prayer Step 4 – Realization:  The realization step is about what you know.  “I know,” are the words that anchor this step.  Remember, a prayer treatment is an affirmative prayer.  It’s not about begging for something; it’s about what you know to be true.  “I know that I am abundant.  I know that my life is full of grace.  I know that all is well in my life.”  By stating these words of truth, we plant the seed allowing the Universe to do its thing.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, remember your divine qualities by saying, “I know…” and fill in the qualities that are seeking to be activated in you.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I know, that I know, that I know!  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 10 “Divine Recognition”

Today’s Body Connection:  We must find the divine within our workouts.  Yoga is the perfect example of the journey to know our higher self.  When we set the intention to see the miracles that is what we will experience.   During your workout, create a space for the Universe to show up.  Our physical practice is for the sole purpose of connecting with God.  Today, take a walk in nature with your heart wide open.  Run with the pure intention to see a blessing unfold as your life.  Lift your weights to know your inner strength.  Use your yoga class to realign your mind with your spirit.  It’s all connected; let’s operate from that awareness.

Meditative Thought: Affirmative Prayer Step 2 – Recognition:  The next step of the prayer treatment is Recognition.  Because God is everywhere present, this energy is governing the prayer.  God is the force that is everywhere, always active, all-powerful, and all-knowing.  The simple statement that “God is,” is recognition.  When we awaken to the fact that God is all-inclusive, we begin to see God everywhere.  God is all there is.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, actively recognize the activity of God.  This is a practice that requires work.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I recognize God to be all there is.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, and Gratitude – Day 9 “Gratitude”

Today’s Body Connection:  Begin your workout within a space of gratitude.  If we use positive energy as the jumping-off point for transformation, we will find it easier to manifest the condition we seek.  Remember that gratitude is the highest appreciation for what is working in your life. Check in with your body-temple, find something that you know is working, and use that energy to propel your workout to a practice.  Everything is connected to our consciousness. The mental state in which we approach the practice is the place where we will end.  In other words, if our consciousness and minds are in alignment with success, all our goals will be golden.  Begin your workout with gratitude and you will see the blessing.

Meditative Thought: Affirmative Prayer Step 1 – Gratitude:  It is important to begin our prayer treatment with gratitude.  Gratitude is the highest vibration for manifestation.  If we begin our prayer with thanksgiving it sets the tone and it is always good to start everything in the highest vibrational field possible.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, begin your prayers with gratitude.  Set the tone and vibration of the prayer.  Feel the vibration.  As you workout, continue to pray from the place of appreciation.  Focus on keeping your gratitude field open and active throughout the day and at the end, journal about your experience.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am grateful for God.  I set the tone of my life with thanksgiving.  Gratitude is the order of my life.  And so it is.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: 30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 8 “Treatments”

Today’s Body Connection:  The word treatment means action and management.  When I think of body treatments what comes to mind is healing and recovery.  Whether we are already physically active or just beginning our practice, we must remember our healing treatments and management.  Stretching the body before and after every workout is key.  Taking time to see your massage therapist allows you to activate deep recovery during your period of the physical transformation.  A weekly healing session with your holistic practitioner takes you to a deeper level of physical, mental, and spiritual empowerment.  Yes, we must work hard, but we must heal even harder.  One of the most successful practices to repair the body is meditation.  If we constantly breakdown the body without equally nurturing it, we will never know wholeness.

Meditative Thought: I attended The University of Transformational Studies and Leadership at the Agape International Spiritual Center, where we study a form of prayer called Affirmative Prayer; It’s also known as prayer treatments or mind treatments.”  I am asked quite frequently what is the difference between prayer and a prayer treatment.  The easiest way to differentiate between the two is to remember that prayer treatment is a prayer, but not every prayer is a treatment.  Ernest Holmes says a treatment is when you acknowledge the Omniscience, Omnipotence, and Omnipresence of God and recognize man’s unity with spirit.  During Affirmative Prayer, there are specific steps a spiritual practitioner conducts, 6 step in all: Gratitude, Recognition of God, Unification of the One, Realization of the truth, Thanksgiving, and Release.  Each step aligns the mind and body, with the Divine.  Today dive into your prayer practice so that you may know your authentic self.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, acknowledge the Omniscience, Omnipotence, and Omnipresence power of God in your prayer time.  Speak a word about the greatness of the Universe.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I recognize the omnipresence of God.  Amen

Today’s Body Connection:  When you work out, try infusing your activity with music.  Music can up-level your consciousness while your transform your body.  During the fitness classes I teach, music is an essential element to the class.  Music helps to keep the rhythm and the pulse of the workout.  It can take your mind off the discomfort associated with exercise. The vibration of music can also elevate the energy of the workout session.  Music has a way of connecting with the heart chakra, allowing you to feel the energy of love.  During your next training session, mindfully choose music that will assist you with the work you have said yes to.

Meditative Thought: Singing is the same as praying twice.  The lyrics send out a vibration, accompanied by the vibrations of the melody.  Whenever you sing, your vibration is lifted to new heights.  The music helps to anchor our spirit.  Every song has a message.  What song do you sing?

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, sing your prayers.  It doesn’t matter if you think you can sing or not; it’s about your intentions to elevate your consciousness.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, “Sing, sing a song, make it simple to last the whole day long.  Don’t worry that it’s not good enough for anyone else to hear, just sing, sing a song.”  Amen

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  30 Days of Faith, Hope, Prayer, and Gratitude – Day 1 “Creating a Practice”

Today’s Body Connection:  We have all heard the saying, “practice makes perfect.” Now let’s change it around: “perfect makes practice.”  What I mean by that is when we understand our divine perfection we free ourselves to do the practice required to sustain that awareness.  For the next 30 days commit to a physical practice.  When we begin to move our body we activate a spirit of hope.  Every time we say yes to fitness, everything else becomes a reflection of the practice.  Walk, run, dance, weight train, it does not matter; get moving and watch your life unfold to greatness.

Meditative Thought:  Do something for 30 days and the practice becomes embedded in your consciousness.  I invite you to take part in the next 30 Days of faith, hope, prayer, and gratitude to help transform your body, mind, and spirit.   Join me on a 30-day journey exploring the practices that empower your life, experiencing prayer, meditation, affirmations, and a commitment to physical activity.  It doesn’t matter what you believe; just know that there is one universal force that expresses itself in so many ways.  The next 30 days focus on the space we practice from, not who we practice to. Make a commitment to pray for your family and friends, and be grateful for the people in your life.  I believe that the practice is the spiritual answer to every problem.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, take all your cares and worries to prayer.  The outcome will amaze you.  Write a letter to God. Tell the Universe about what ails you.  Now imagine a God bigger than your problems.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, in the mind of God I have no problems or issues.  God is bigger than any worries I could have.  And so it is.  Amen

Today’s Body Connection:  When you want to shift your body, remember that it takes time.  Question: How long did it take you to get in poor condition?  There are no overnight solutions.  Be patient as you transform your body-temple.  Sometimes it takes longer than we want to allow time for.  Allow yourself a realistic time goal.  Transformation takes as much time as it needs; it cannot be rushed.  Breathe and let go of your time expectations.  It will happen in its divine time.

Today’s Meditative Thought:  It takes time to transform your consciousness.  There are levels of awakening; the journey is filled with many facets. There is the Ah-ha moment, the realization that change is needed.  Then comes the level of deep contemplation, when we ask the question: How can I apply this new thought to my life?  Next come the action plan, the practice, and beginning to do what is required for the change to happen.  The last level is the being, the “yin of transformation.”  We become the shift and we live the transformation.

 

 

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, walk through each level and know this is about the journey; there is no destination.  It takes time for a lasting transformation to happen.

 

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I embrace every level of the transformation.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: Transformation – Day 27 – “Transformation Is Growth”

Today’s Body Connection:  Remember, we are on this path to grow.  When we speak of transformation, we speak of being better and more of our authentic self, and that require growth.  Whenever you say yes to being better, there is always a time of “stirring up the pot,” or what is known as a “growth edge.”  Transformation can sometimes feel like an agitation of the soul, an uncomfortable space that we would like to run from.  We need to hold tight, stand firm, and allow the growth to happen. Transformation of the body can be one of the must uncomfortable experiences, but remember, physical challenges will lead to a breakthrough.

Today’s Meditative Thought: Transformation is about growth, being more than you ever thought you could be.  When we truly shift our conscious thoughts, we become stronger, more anchored in infinite possibilities.  Our willingness to grow and be more is the key.  Your yes is the key that opens the door of life.  Your consent to be more is your gateway to success.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, begin your transformation with a big, fat Yes.

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I say a big, fat yes to growth.  And so it is.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: Transformation – Day 26 – “Determination and Tenacity”

Today’s Body Connection:  One of the great challenges while transforming the body-temple is staying with and adhering to the required program.  Your determination to complete the goal requires “staying power.”  You will always come to a fitness crossroad; your choices are to keep going or to give up.  Your tenacity and persistence is the key.  You cannot win if you are not in.  You must stay in the game.  That old saying rings true: “Quitters never win and winners never quit.”  To put a new spin on it, “You can’t win a game if you don’t play.”  Trust me, it’s one of the hardest challenges of your life, but transforming your body-temple from unhealthy to healthy is the most fulfilling goal you will ever achieve.

Today’s Meditative Thought: True and deep transformation requires determination and tenacity to see God’s plan come to fruition.  You are the divine vision in living form.  The shift will happen if you don’t give up.  Be determined to stay in the race.  We all have great insights, but when we cease the work that is required, or we don’t see change right away, we shelve our dreams and move on.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, be determined; continue to allow your transformation to come forth.  Stick with it no matter what.  Find an accountability partner who will stand with you no matter what, even when you don’t want to continue.  Once you have connected with your partner, make the commitment to stand with them.

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am determined and filled with divine tenacity to see my transformation come to life.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: Transformation – Day 23 – “Remembering”

Today’s Body Connection:  Every workout is a time to remember who and who’s you are.  Our life is a dance of forgetting and remembering our power.  The physical practice is always a tool for remembering, if we set the intention.  When you do cardiovascular training, remember your capacity to breathe.  When you lift weights, remind yourself of the never-ending strength that lives within your soul.  When you take a Pilates class or train your core, remind yourself that a strong foundation is needed to build your life.  And our yoga practice is a reminder to be more flexible in our lives.  Our physical practice reminds us of the spiritual journey we have said yes to.  It is all connected!

Today’s Meditative Thought: Transformation is the journey of remembering who and who’s you are.  Today, remember that you are divine and fine.  There is only one thing to change, your consciousness and that is everything.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, transform the way you see yourself; be still and remember.  Mindfully move through your day with only empowering thoughts.  Whenever you think of your body-temple, bless it with love.  This might be a challenge at first but you can do it.  Set the intention to remember to be kind and love to your self.

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I remember to remember.  Amen
