DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Setting Intentions Day 30 “Retreat”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  31 Days of Setting Intentions Day 30 “Retreat”

Meditative Thought: Sometimes we must retreat from our everyday lives to push the restart button.  The word “retreat” means to withdraw into a place of safety, a refuge, or retirement and or a period of retirement for religious or spiritual practices like meditation and prayer.

When we decide that life has become overwhelming or to challenging, it is time for a retreat.  We do not have to go up to the mountains, our to the desert to push restart, although that is the ideal way to retreat.  We can begin again in our homes, in the backyard, down the street at the park, or even a day at the beach.

A retreat is a turning away from what stands in the way of your spiritual practice, and a surrender to your connection with God.  Be open to a daily retreat from the world.  Find a place that you can shutdown from the grind and fall into the arms of God.  Set the intention to find your safe haven in God.  The Universe is always ready for you to ‘steal away’ some time for yourself.

Spiritual Assignment:  Today, set the intention to retreat on a daily basis.  Find the time to unplug from the world and connect with God.  For 30 days, take time to shut off the computer, cell phones, TV’s, and just be still.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment… just for this breath, my oneness with the power of God fuels my very being.  My safe haven is in my sacred and holy place within.  And so it is.  Amen.

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Setting Intentions Day 29 “Blessing the Planet”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  31 Days of Setting Intentions Day 29 “Blessing the Planet”

Meditative Thought: We have one planet, and it is our responsibility to take care of the place we live in; to preserve it’s beauty.  The Universe has miraculously supplied us with a world that can naturally work without us interfering.  We live in a world that has enough supply to feed everyone.  There is enough water…we are just in the middle of a destitution imbalance.

The problems that we face are man-made.  With the use of plastics, the constant drilling for natural resources, pollution, and the build up of non-recyclable garbage, we are the cause of Mother Earth’s destruction.

When we set the intention to bless the planet, our eyes become open to the need to change the way we live.  Question: Can we live without an impact on the planet?  Can we live without the use of man-made garbage?  Can we begin to plant trees and organic vegetables?  It is time to connect with our alternative energy sources like sun, and the air.  Solar panels and windmills may seem to be an improbable solution, but when was the last time we talked about a shortage of wind?   Lets begin today, so that we may have a better tomorrow for our children.

Spiritual Assignment:  Today, set the intention to bless our planet.  For 30 days, diligently meditate and contemplate ways to save the Mother Earth.  Take on the commitment to renew the Earth’s resources.  Whatever spirit reveals to you, be willing to step up to the plate.  Pray that a solution will be revealed upon the planet.  Remember Mother Earth in your thoughts.  It begins with our consciousness.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment… just for this breath, my universal way of life is fulfilled in the creative open spaces of God.  I am the blessing that heals this world.  I am the light and the ‘way shower’ of the planet.  And so I am.  Amen.

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Setting Intentions Day 28 “Sharing Your Gifts”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  31 Days of Setting Intentions Day 28 “Sharing Your Gifts”

Meditative Thought: Set the intention to share your gifts.  What a blessing when we realize that we have so much to give.  What qualities are you bringing forth today?  What are you choosing to share?  Love, joy compassion, oneness, and gratitude are gifts that live within our being, and we are free to share these gifts with others.   The most important gift that we can share is our time.  We must set that intention to bless others with the divine talents we have.  Share your love, share you wisdom, and share God.

Spiritual Assignment:  Today set the intention to share the divine qualities that live within your soul.  Choose a gift of love, joy, compassion, peace, or harmony and set the intention to share it everywhere you go.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment… just for this breath, I share the gift of God that is my life.  And so it is.  Amen.

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Setting Intentions Day 27 “Release Your Fear”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  31 Days of Setting Intentions Day 27 “Release Your Fear”

Meditative Thought: The Course in Miracles says that we only have two thoughts, a thought of fear, or a thought of Love.  The thought of fear is always anchored in doubt, worry and the, “what ifs.”  When we are not in the present moment we are in a place of fear.  This fear is also a direct connection to the expansion of the ego.  The ego wants to protect and attack.  Our human mind wants to tell us that we are ‘no good,’ our relationship sucks, or that we will never make our goals come true.  This is a lie from the Ego, the Father of Lies.

A love thought is the realization of God and is anchored in the infinite possibilities vibration.  The truth is that we living, moving, and having our being in God which is the source of everything.  Set the intention to be aware when we are operating from a place of fear or a place of love.  Where are our thoughts?  You have the choice.  It begins with your awareness.  Once we recognize that we are operating from fear, we then can set the intention to release the fear and embrace reality, which is love.

Spiritual Assignment:  Today, set the intention to release fear and embrace the love.  When you find yourself in the “what ifs” come back to the now, which is the only power that we have.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I release the “what ifs” and live in the power of now.  All things are possible in my life…Breath by breath, and moment by moment.  Amen.

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Setting Intentions Day 26 “Finding Your Inner Peace”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  31 Days of Setting Intentions Day 26 “Finding Your Inner Peace”

Meditative Thought: Set a daily intention to find inner peace.  Inner peace, or what I choose to call serenity, is a state that no matter what happens, we understand that all is well right now.  No matter what is happening within our lives, there is always a divine call to be content.  This inner peace is the knowing that right where you are, the presence of God is; therefore you are in the right place, for a purpose.

The practice of peace is just not only being ok with the fact that you are in a long line in the super market, or the post office, but knowing that you have been called to that time and space for a divine reason.  Serenity is just not accepting; it is embracing whatever is going on in your life at that moment.  Everything fades in to God; therefore everything has a purpose and a calling.

Spiritual Assignment:  Today set the intention to find your inner peace.  Meditation is the key.  Set the time to meditate on inner peace, and what serenity looks like for you.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am the inner peace that I seek.  I am willing to become peaceful in every and all situations.  And so it is.  Amen.

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Setting Intentions Day 25 “The Practice of Love”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  31 Days of Setting Intentions Day 25 “The Practice of Love”

Meditative Thought: Love is the highest state of consciousness and it is the awareness of God in action.  Being in a state of love is releasing the human condition of lack limitation, disappointment, fear, and worry, which block the flow of miracles in our life.  When we set the intention to practice Love, we free ourselves from the human condition.  Love is connecting with the light within you and someone else.  The sorrow of the human condition would have us in a belief that love is not possible.  That is a lie of the ego.

One of the intentions I speak about in yoga is opening up the heart and allowing yourself to love again.  We must set the intention to practice Love.  If there was a religion that I subscribe to, it is the religion of Love and Kindness.  Remember what you send out, is what you get back.

Spiritual Assignment:  Today set the intention to practice Love.  When you find yourself operating from a fear thought, shift your thinking right away.   Give yourself permission to love yourself.  Allow your heart chakra to be open and filled with love. Forgive your self for the fear that consumed your thinking and begin again.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment… just for this breath, I am the love energy that blesses the planet.  I move from a place of love and my life is good.  And so it is.

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Setting Intentions Day 24 “The Practice of Activating Joy”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  31 Days of Setting Intentions Day 24 “The Practice of Activating Joy”

Meditative Thought: I am ‘loving’ Oprah’s term, “Joy Raising.”  She explains it as the feeling of the activation of joy within.  I believe we need to practice activating Joy every day.  When we realize that joy is an internal presence that lives within ourselves, and that nothing outside of our being can bring us joy, we become free to do what activates “Joy Raising.”

Everyday we must set the intention to activate Joy.  It is our connection with Spirit that will allow us to identify what it is that activates Joy.  Be open and willing to contemplate Joy, and what it really means to be joyful.  Through prayer and meditation, God will reveal to you what true Joy is, and once you know it, go after it!

Spiritual Assignment:  Today, practice the activation of Joy.  Meditate on what joy lives within you.  It is time to play, and have fun in the ocean of devotion.  Joy is within you; do not look for something outside to activate it.  Ask the question, “God, show me the joy that is my Life?”

Affirmation:  Just for this moment… just for this breath, I activate the Joy that is my life.  Amen.

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Setting Intentions Day 23 “The Practice of Fellowship”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  31 Days of Setting Intentions Day 23 “The Practice of Fellowship”

Meditative Thought: Fellowship is the one practice that keeps us connected to one another.  It is too easy for us to isolate and not actively embrace the nature of unity; we do it all the time.  When there is someone on the phone we do not want to talk to, we just don’t answer.  Or when we are asked to hang with a friend, sometimes it feels easier to just sit at home.  When it is time for our daily or weekly spiritual gathering, our human incarnation, the ego, wants to protect us be telling us that ‘we are too tired,’ ‘we need to sleep in’ or ‘it won’t be any good any way.’ But, every time we get to the place we were fighting to go, we always feel better.  This year set the intention to view your gathering as a spiritual practice for growth. Fellowship is divine nature.

Spiritual Assignment:  Today, set the intention to increase your fellowship time.  Connect with your spiritual posse.  For 30 days, say yes to gatherings with friends, family, and loved ones.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, my fellowship is a deep expression of God.  And so it is.  Amen.

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Setting Intentions Day 22 “The Practice of Prayer”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  31 Days of Setting Intentions Day 22 “The Practice of Prayer”

Meditative Thought: Prayer is the practice of aligning our minds and consciousness with the oneness and the unity of God.  Affirmative prayer is what we use to remind us of a connection to a source greater than our human incarnation.  We need the power that prayer gives us.  These words of empowerment keep us awakened to our divinity.

When we set the intention to increase our prayer practice, our life is open to new and amazing possibilities.  Contrary to popular belief, prayer is not for God; our prayer life is only for the edification of our souls.  Prayer helps us to keep our thoughts and our consciousness open and focused.

Spiritual Assignment:  Today, set the intention to increase your prayer practice.  Whatever it takes, say a prayer everyday to realign your life.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment… just for this breath, I stand as a prayer warrior.  My life is the life of God; therefore I am the prayer of life.  Amen.

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Setting Intentions Day 21 “The Practice of Service”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  31 Days of Setting Intentions Day 21 “The Practice of Service”

Meditative Thought: Service is a spiritual practice that anchors our oneness with each other. This practice of serving our fellows started from the beginning of time and is imbedded deep within our DNA.  The word service means: the act of helpful activity.  Our divine calling is to be of service to the Universe and to each other.  When setting the intention to live a spiritual life, service becomes an important holy practice.

When we step into service, we activate the energy of love, compassion, joy and gratitude within ourselves, the natural state of being.  The truth is when we choose to serve others, we are really serving our self.  There is only the one power of God, and we are that power in the flesh so there is only one.  Everything we do affects the whole.  We must set the intention to be of service.  This not only serves us, it sets into motion the healing of the planet.

Spiritual Assignment:  Today, set the intention to be in service and know the truth.  What you do for others, you do for yourself.  Ask your spiritual guides how you can be of service to someone.  Then follow your gut.  Step out, open your heart, and change the planet.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am a magnet for service, and I bless the planet with love.  Amen.
