DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Embracing the Practice – Day 13 “Study to Expand Consciousness”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  31 Days of Embracing the Practice – Day 13 “Study to Expand Consciousness”

Meditative Thought: Deep within our spirit is the knowledge of God, a divine intelligence that we have had all of our existences, an eternal fire that can never be put out.   When we embrace the practice of sacred study, there is an on switch that activates our awareness.  Has there ever been a time that you have read something and the ‘soul light bulb’ has turned on?  This is called the “Ah-Hah Moment.”  What has truly happened is an expansion of consciousness has taken place. This knowledge has always been within you; you just were not aware.

Whenever these moments take place, it feels so amazing.  It’s as if we have always known this little nugget, but we have just been reminded of it. These are instant spiritual growth jumps, an expansion of your awareness of who and what you are, and whom you are connecting to.

Your Spiritual Assignment:  Today, acknowledge every “Ah-Hah Moment.”  Write them in a journal; keep track of your expansion.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, my life is filled with Ah-Hah moments and I am blessed.  Amen.

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Embracing the Practice – Day 12 “Embracing Sacred Study”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  31 Days of Embracing the Practice – Day 12 “Embracing Sacred Study”

Meditative Thought: Every moment we spend in the practice of sacred study expands our spiritual consciousness.  It is like a bank account; it is accumulative.  When there is an embrace of spiritual academia, there is always a growth that takes place.  Each word, each sentence, each phase activates your personal intention to know more.  When we study, there is an activation of divine knowledge within our souls that has always been there; we are now simply turning it on.

We must fully surrender to the call of our spirit; it wants to know more God.  Sacred study feeds the hunger.  When we find ourselves in a class or a spiritual community, feeding our spiritual souls, we become a beacon for goodness.  We begin to radiate this knowledge that we are taking in.  We illuminate the darkness as our consciousness grows.

Your Spiritual Assignment:  Today, take the time to open your spiritual bank account.  Be aware that everything counts.  Every time you are in practice make a mental deposit into the Bank of Consciousness.  Create an affirmation that will anchor your commitment for growth.  You can simply remind yourself by saying, “I am making a deposit into my divine account.”

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I fill my spiritual bank account with my awareness.  My life is blessed with the knowledge of God.  And so it is.

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Embracing the Practice – Day 11 “What Is Sacred Study?”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  31 Days of Embracing the Practice – Day 11 “What Is Sacred Study?”

Meditative Thought: Sacred study is the practice of increasing your knowledge of the Divine.  The oldest form of study is the scripture.  Most of us are familiar with the Bible, the Koran, and the Toa as holy writings, and we have spent time increasing our knowledge about God through these texts.  But these are not the only writing that expands our awareness of God.  New spiritual writings have been downloaded in the last century like A Course in Miracles by Helen Schucman, The Science of Mind by Ernest Holmes, A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle, Spiritual Liberation by Michael Bernard Beckwith, and anything by my favorite teacher, Joel S. Goldsmith.

The truth is, anything can be a sacred.  If we look for the God, we shall see God.  When we choose the text that we are called to study, master that book.  Stay with it for an extended period of time.  Each master teacher, avatar, spiritual leader is basically saying the same thing, but the presentation is of their own style.  It doesn’t matter who or what you choose; just study.  Take the time to read and know more about the journey you have said yes to. There is nothing like being in a class filled with like-minded people studying great transcendent masters and their amazing writings.

Your Spiritual Assignment:  Today, commit to a practice of sacred study.  Find a book, a class, or a group of like-minded people who will help you to expand your consciousness.  Set the intention to find the right form of study for you and the Universe will show up to support you.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, my consciousness is elevated with my intentions.  And so it is.  Amen.

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Embracing the Practice – Day 10 “Overcoming the Obstacles During Meditation”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  31 Days of Embracing the Practice – Day 10 “Overcoming the Obstacles During Meditation”

Meditative Thought: Whenever we set the intention to embrace a new practice, the ego steps in to protect us.  It does not like change.  It only wants us to remain the same.  The ego is in fear that change might diminish its role.  It moves into action, the reasons why the ego exists: to attack, protect, and defend.  Because transformation is about shifting, and meditation is always the key to change, the ego will fight tooth and nail so it can remain as is.

When we sit down to meditate, the ego will begin to talk to us.  It wants to make itself known to us.  The mind and the ego begin to work together.  At the moment when we are not thinking and we being to feel a second of peace, the ego will remind us of something that we have not done, like walk the dog, turn off the stove, or finish that work project.  We will begin to think of our laundry or shopping list, and all the while our intention is just to stop thinking for a moment.

When we start to think during mediation, be aware of it.  Bless the chatter and embrace it.  Do not try to fight it; what you resist will persist. Let the ego know that you hear it and you will deal with it later and continue to breathe.  Your practice will get better.  Remember, there is no such thing as a bad meditation.

Your Spiritual Assignment:  Today, be aware of when the ego is restless.  Witness what happens when you sit down for a session of meditation.  Do not judge; just be present. When the ego arises, speak gently to it and tell it you know it is there, then return to your session.  Practice your witness consciousness whenever you are challenged and notice a shift within your practice.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, my life is the life of abundant blessings.  Amen.

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Embracing the Practice – Day 9 “Meditation as Communion”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  31 Days of Embracing the Practice – Day 9 “Meditation as Communion”

Meditative Thought: The practice of meditation is our sacred communion with God and self.  The word communion means “intimate fellowship.”  When we take the time to fellowship, we become intimate with someone or something.  This is not a casual relationship; this is a deep, meaningful, and intimate connection.  When we commune with God, we begin to know about the qualities of the Divine.  We begin to understand our oneness with Mother-Father-God, in such away that   can only be cultivated though meditation.  To know God is to be in the stillness with God.

Your Spiritual Assignment:  Today, see your meditation as a fellowship with God.  Create a space of communion and allow it to be sacred.  Set the intention to honor your time of stillness.  This meeting with your divine self is magnificent.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am a transcendent master, living my authentic life, and it is good.  Amen

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Embracing the Practice – Day 8 “The Gift of Meditation”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  31 Days of Embracing the Practice – Day 8 “The Gift of Meditation”

Meditative Thought: The greatest gift we have is Grace, God in action.  When our life is moving with ease and everything is working, that is Grace.  When we are at peace and the essence of good has fallen upon us, that is Grace.  This gift from God can only be recognized with spiritual eyes, and the veil of our human life must be torn down.  The practice of meditation helps us to see the gift.  Grace is only Grace when it is recognized.

Your Spiritual Assignment:  Today, after your meditation, ask the Universe to show you itself in action.  Recognize Grace that is your life.  Take the time to journal your experience.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, my life is Grace in action.  I am a global beacon that elevates all that comes in contact with my light.  And so I am.  And it is.  Amen.

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Embracing the Practice – Day 7 “Embracing Meditation”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  31 Days of Embracing the Practice – Day 7 “Embracing Meditation”

Meditative Thought: Every time we sit in the stillness we connect with inner peace that is so blissful, so amazing.  Our soul is longing for the communion with Spirit.  We are divine beings, having a divine experience, within a human incarnation, so our souls requires a sacred time, a tryst with the Universe, a reconnection that can only be done in meditation.  Embrace the practice of meditation.  When we take the time to be still, we are nurtured and loved by God.  We are embraced by the Divine.

Your Spiritual Assignment:  Today, fall in love with meditation.  Journal bout the feeling you get when you meditate.  Take note of all the things you like about meditation and focus on them.  Record in your journal the benefits of meditation.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I embrace my highest potential.  I am the blessing that sets the world on fire.  And so it is.  Amen.

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Embracing the Practice – Day 6 “What Is Meditation?”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  31 Days of Embracing the Practice – Day 6 “What Is Meditation?”

Meditative Thought: “Be still and know that I am God.”  What an amazing scripture David, the Psalmist, wrote.  With that one line, he summed up what meditation is about.  It is only when we are quiet that we can truly hear the message of God.  Our meditation, our mindful listening, is when the Universe speaks; we must be willing to listen.  Meditation is an art; some call it the “The Art of Listening.”  It is a way to commune with a source that is always working for our good.  When we set the intention to know our God, it is the practice of meditation that creates an open space for our consciousness to expand.

Your Spiritual Assignment:  Today, study meditation.  Find a book that will enlighten your practice.  Be one?? with the words you read.  Study the different ways meditation can happen.  Know that there is no right or wrong way and that there are many styles of mindful listening.  We must find the right one for us.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, my ears are open and I am ready to receive the message.  Amen.

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Embracing the Practice – Day 5 “Prayer as a Way of Life”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  31 Days of Embracing the Practice – Day 5 “Prayer as a Way of Life”

Meditative Thought: Because our connection to God is the greatest and most powerful source we have, we must communicate with that power every waking moment.  Every decision, every choice we make can be directed by the Universe if we allow it.  We have an amazing GPS within our souls; we only need to turn it on.  Prayer is turning on the divine guidance system.  When we make prayer a way of life, we can free ourselves from worry and doubt — free, because we are not in charge.  We now have a power that is working on our behalf.  It only wants the very best for us.

Your Spiritual Assignment:  Today, set the intention to prayer without ceasing.  Commit to a life of prayer.  Everything we do can begin with a little prayer.  Pray during your commute.  Pray during meals and play time.  Thank God for the moment you are in.  You will be amazed as your life opens up like a lotus blossom.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am the light that is powered by my intention.  God is my life and I am blessed.  Amen.

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Embracing the Practice – Day 4 “The Power of Prayer”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  31 Days of Embracing the Practice – Day 4 “The Power of Prayer”

Meditative Thought: The Power of prayer is the shifting of our consciousness.  When we pray, we realign our will with the will of the God.  It is the prayer that reminds us that a power greater than ourselves is in control.  There is a source that we are connecting to that elevates our existence.  The power that we gain is not one of superficiality; it is real and it is never-ending.  When we turn our will and life over to a greater power, there are no doors that block us from greatness; there are only ‘yeses’ that pave the pathway of success.

Your Spiritual Assignment:  Today, journal about the power you receive when you prayer.  It is important that we take note and record of our spiritual growth, and journal about your expansion.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am a power emanation of God, fueled by my prayers.  And so I am.  Amen.
