DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: “Remember” Day 25 – “Free Yourself”

Today’s Body Connection:  How many times have you talked yourself out of a training session simply by saying, “I can’t.” If you say you can’t do something, you are right.  The truth is, you can if you are willing.  Each workout begins with the simple belief that it is ‘accomplishable.’  When you begin to trust yourself to cut calories, you will begin to eat mindfully.  When you free yourself from the “I can’t” attitude, everything is possible.  Remember, your positive attitude will make every workout enjoyable.

Today’s Meditative Thought:  Allow old habits to be put to death.  In yoga, the last pose is the “corpse pose.”  We die in the practice because it is finished; time to let it go.  What are you holding on to that is dying a long, slow death?  Free yourself, then raise up a new creation, with a new purpose.  Remember, the power is within you.  You can free yourself by letting go of the people, places, things, thoughts, and habits that no longer serve you.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, remember that which is dying, is dying for a reason: it no longer serves you. Time to identify what you need to let go.  Start with the body-temple.  If your language and thoughts are not kind and loving, it is time to release them.

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I remember to free myself with Love.  Amen

Today’s Body Connection:  When you say yes to health and fitness you will inspire the world.  When you lift yourself up, others will follow.  Set the intention to affect others with how you live your life.  You don’t have to say anything; just live your new life.  When you walk into the gym, walk proud, like you are on a mission.  When you run or walk in your neighborhood, do it with gusto and purpose.  During your training session with your trainer, the person next to you is copying the workout.  What you do today can and will inspire the world to be fit.

Today’s Meditative Thought:  Once we have said yes to the lessons and transformation, energy becomes contagious.  People will be attracted to your radiant power.  They will ask you, “What have you been doing?”  Your family and friends will want to know what is so different about you.   Be aware that it is the divine light of God that is the attraction, their divine light connecting with your divine light that is so divine.  This is known as the power of “Namaste,” the God in you recognizes the God in me.   Allow it to flow and be free.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, remember we were created to inspire others to be great. Set the intention to radiate inspiration.  Observe your surroundings and journal your experience.

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I remember that I am transforming my world.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: “Remember” Day 22 – “The Example of Health”

 Today’s Body Connection:  How do you live your life?  What do you represent?  Is your way of life an example of healthy living?  We make choices every day; and people are watching.  Once we have said yes to health and fitness, it’s time to become the yes.  In yoga we talk about the becoming of each pose as opposed to the doing.  Health and fitness is more than something we do; it’s a lifestyle, a way of living.  Today is the day we change the way we see exercise; we do it because we are it.  Be the face of health; it’s time to walk the talk.

Today’s Meditative Thought: Remember, you have said yes to a journey of transformation and this road requires a commitment to walk the talk.  When we download, and commit to living the shift, our existence has meaning.  One mantra to help anchor our minds is, “I do because I am.”  We love because we are love.  We bring the peace because we are peace in the flesh.  We exercise because we are the healthy, divine expression of God.  Remember, our actions should be the reflection of who we are.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, remember that you are the image and likeness of God; therefore you are amazing.  As you move through your day, be mindful of who and what you are.

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I remember that I am the image and likeness of God and I am amazing.  And so I am.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: “Remember” Day 21 – “Overcoming Fear and Doubt”

Today’s Body Connection:  One of our biggest challenges is to overcome the fears, doubts, and worries related to our body image.  Even when we have reached our ideal weight or we lose a few inches, the old fear tapes of self-hatred becomes our focus.  We can always find something about our appearance that displeases us. Remember, the goal is how we feel, never about what we look like.  When we overcome the fear of the appearance transformation becomes easier.

Today’s Meditative Thought:  Martin Luther King Jr. was advised by his associates not to rock the boat.  Gandhi’s friends told him that the British government would never release its stranglehold on India.  Yet both men remained strong in their convictions and in the integrity of their souls. If you know, that you know, that you know, you are in the integrity with your soul, push on, and keep your faith.  Stand on the ground that you are anchored in.  Remember that God has your back. Sometimes we are called to stand-alone with God, anchored in the ‘knowingness’ that truth is on our side.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, remember that every great revelation, idea, or transformation has its moments of fear and doubt. When you begin to experience uneasiness, embrace it and ask, “What part of me is being triggered?” Awareness is the focus.

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I stand and push past my fears.  I embrace my greatness.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: “Remember” Day 20 – “Begin Again”

Today’s Body Connection:  Everyday is a new day; therefore every workout is a new workout.  Every time we step into our physical practice, we can begin again, creating a unique experience.   During weight training, each repetition within a set represents a new beginning.  We must learn to focus on one repetition at a time, from the start to the end.  As we move the weight, we learn to breathe into the movement, so that each inhale announces the start of the work and each exhale indicates the finish.  Today, begin again with your awareness that every day, workout, exercise, repetition, breath, and moment is new.

Today’s Meditative Thought:  Once you have paused and taken a breath, you are ready to begin again.  Life is a series of starting over.  Every breath is new, every moment is a beginning, and every idea is a fresh beginning in the mind of God.  When life gets a little interesting, just push the restart button and begin again.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, remember you can always begin again; just stop, breathe, and be still.  Simply push your personal restart button.  Decide what is the best way for you to begin again and do it as often as you need.

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I breathe in the new breath of God.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: “Remember” Day 19 – “The Solution”

Today’s Body Connection:  Remember, the solution to all your body issues is you.  The power to transform from deconditioned to healthy starts with awareness.  When we identify a need to change the way we live, we must take action.  Don’t wait for “one day” to show up.  Whatever we put off today will take more effort to do tomorrow.  The solution is your aspiration to do something.  When the inspiration comes to shift your life, remind yourself that you are the answer. Only you can do the work.

Today’s Meditative Thought:  Remember, the answer is always at a higher level of consciousness than the issue.  Einstein said, “You can never solve a problem on the level on which it was created.”  If we look for the answer with the same consciousness we will get more of the same problems.  Today, think higher, reach for a solution that can only be found within your soul.  Remember, the answer is always within you, ready to be revealed.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, remember there is always a solution to every problem.  When a challenge arises, take the time to step back and remove yourself from the situation.  Go out, take a walk or a run, and clear your head.  Move into prayer time to ask your spiritual authority to reveal the answer.  You might need to do this several times today, but it is worth it.

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I remember to breathe and relax.  I can make it through anything with God’s help.  Amen

Today’s Body Connection:  When we remember to let go of our impulse to resist change, we become aware of our wholeness and transformation becomes easy.  We hold on to our old stories of “there is not enough time to work out“ or “my family is big-boned so I am destined to be fat.”  The truth is that we can transcend any of our old perceptions about our body-temples.  We have the ability to transform our lives and live a healthy lifestyle.  There is a deep desire within our souls to expand and be the divine expression that we are.  Release the fight and surrender to an everyday practice of healthy living.

Today’s Meditative Thought: Mother Teresa would never go to an anti-war rally because she stood for peace.  She said, I was once asked why I don’t participate in anti-war demonstrations. I said that I will never do that, but as soon as you have a pro-peace rally, I’ll be there.”  This makes perfect sense to me. Whatever we fight against will persist in our life.  If our mind is focused on the things we don’t want, we will get more of what we don’t want.  Have you ever heard the saying, “Where your attention goes, energy will flow”?  Keep your mind steadfast on your intentions and goals.  It’s time to free your mind from the idea that you must fight for anything.  Transformation is about becoming the vision, not fighting it.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, remember the key to peace is releasing the fight.  Whenever you become aware that you are resisting God, take a breath and surrender.  Let go and fall into the arms of God.  Just say yes.

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I release the fight and embrace God.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: “Remember” Day 16 – “True Power”

Today’s Body Connection:  What is it you really want?  It’s more than to get into your skinny jeans or to lose weight for a wedding.  Of course, reaching a certain weight by an important date can be a surface goal, but what happens when you reach that day or when it’s over?  The majority of people will lose weight for the special day, and when it has come and gone, they gain the pounds back.  The reason for the re-gain, or the “yo-yo” weight syndrome, is lack of vision. Again, I ask what do you really want?  I invite you to see the underlying intention for working out.  We train to connect with our true self, health, and wholeness; we work out to know true power, and true power is the recognition of the Divine within.  When we connect to our physical strength, it is the spiritual strength that is empowered.  Remember, there is always a deeper intention for your external desires.  Your desire to feel better is really the intention to know your wholeness.  Your physical practice will help you to know the true meaning of healing.

Today’s Meditative Thought: The only power we have is our connection to our higher self.  Only from Unity consciousness can we achieve our greatness.  True power is going after what we want with the authority of God fueling our every move.  Know who and what lives inside your soul.  Every day cultivate your relationship with your higher self.  Remember, there is no mountain we cannot climb in God.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, remember that we are in union with God.  Take the time to journal.  As you move through your day, observe your connection with God.  Make a list of everything and everyone that reveals your divine connection.  When you become aware, write it down and affirm it with a simple mantra, “I am one with…”

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I am one with true divine power.  Amen

Today’s Body Connection:  Remember, living a healthy life is based on awareness, a divine mindfulness that you cannot separate the mind from the body and the body from the spirit.  It is all connected.  Health and fitness is a higher state of consciousness.  When we eat, we must remember that it is a spiritual experience.  Not only do we pray and thank God for the food we are about to receive, but eating is also about nourishment of the body-temple, home of your spirit.  Our fitness has more than a superficial meaning, if we choose.  There is a difference between working out to know your divinity and working out to get into your skinny jeans.  It’s not about wrong our or right, just different levels of consciousness.  It’s about our awareness and our intentions.  To know your divine self is a high state of consciousness; to drop a dress size or two is a low state of consciousness.  The higher state will always bring us inner peace, while the lower state’s recompense is fleeting and disappointing.  Choose the higher state.

Today’s Meditative Thought: The low state of consciousness is when we are asleep to the greatness that is within ourselves.  The high state of consciousness is when this greatness is activated and in use.  Today is the day we wake up and set the planet ablaze.  It is time to transform our world and it begins with you.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, remember you can be in a low state of consciousness or a high state of consciousnesses.  Today is a day of awareness.  Stay awake!

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I remember the time to transform is now.  And so it is.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: “Remember” Day 11 – “Love and Forgive”

Today’s Body Connection:  Remember, no matter what your body weight is, God loves you.  Even when you fall off your diet, you can never lose favor with your higher self.   The Universe is an absolute power of love that can only express love.  It knows nothing about your falling off the wagon or your 25-pound weight gain.  So often we equate Love with what we look like.  God only sees your divine self, your spirit.  As you connect with your body-temple, know that you are always blessed.  There are times when we bring the practice in alignment with our intentions, and sometimes we don’t.  Don’t judge it as right or wrong; understand that we are on a path of the transformation of the body, mind, and spirit.  There will be times that our eating will be dead on and our consistency of training is the best it has ever been.  But there will also be times when we won’t be as focused as we would like to be.  Remember, God’s love is not contingent on the size of our jeans; love is the same today, yesterday, and tomorrow, it is nonjudgmental and unchanging.”  Be grateful that no matter how many times you fall, you can always get back up and keep moving.  God loves you no matter what.

Today’s Meditative Thought: True redemption is the act of forgiving yourself and setting your mind to rest.  Long after we have received the forgiveness of God and the person we have wronged, we continue to hold on to the guilt, convincing ourselves that God could never love us again.  We have the choice to make things right within our mind.  The redemptive power of God is the knowing that we are loved no matter what.  Yes, we must make things right with those we have harmed, but we must ultimately make things right within ourselves.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, remember that God loves you no matter what.  Your past is forgotten and forgiven; the only thing we must do is forgiving ourselves.  Examine your life and see if there is anything you are holding on to that needs to be forgiven and/or released.  It is time to place it on the Alter of Forgiveness.  As you workout, you might create a mantra that is about forgiving your shortcomings.  “I forgive myself for forgetting myself” or “I forgive myself for the weight gain.”

Today’s Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I remember to redeem my mind with self-love and forgiveness.  Amen
