DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: Surrendering – Day 22 “Humility”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: Surrendering – Day 22 “Humility”

The Body Connection:  One of the things that we strive for is balance, physically, mentally, and spiritually.  During our journey toward a more fit life, balance or the lack of balance can bring us to a place of humility.  Have you ever been in a yoga class and a very challenging yoga pose has brought you to your knees? And those squats and lunges during your strength-training sessions can challenge you beyond belief.  Even the simple act of standing on one foot with your eyes closed will show you the need to work on your balance.  The secret to achieving balance is to become the balance, and that is an inside job.  When working on your physical practice, remind yourself that balance comes from a place of center within.  Not matter what form of balance you are striving for; it comes from inside of you.  Balance is a feeling that can only be achieved in the practice of stillness.  True balance is achieved when we humble ourselves to the practice of mindfulness.  Stay teachable as you awaken to the balance that is within you.

Meditative Thought: Humility is fully surrendering to God, allowing us to be teachable to the lesson that we have said yes to.  Because we are the likeness, and an idea in the mind of God, we are not limited to the growth we can experience.  The lesson today is humility to feel balanced.  Every lesson leads us to a deeper awareness for God within, which is always in order and balanced.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, remain teachable; humble yourself to the divine lessons of life.  Mindfully ask the question, “What am I to learn from this situation?” or “What is seeking to emerge from this challenge?”  When the answers come, write in down so you don’t forget.    During your time of the physical, mental, our spiritual practices, explore, contemplate and cultivate these expansive questions.  Keep a record of all you divine downloads; this record of enlighten can be used in moments of forgetfulness.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I say yes to the expansion of my soul.  I am humble and teachable and ready to learn.  And so it is.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: Surrendering – Day 21 “Fully Committed”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT: Surrendering – Day 21 “Fully Committed”

The Body Connection:  When we think of the main components of fitness, we must remember stretching.  A fully committed practice incorporates not just the part we like but every element: cardio, strength training, mindful eating, and stretching.  After working the body we must remember that stretching not only helps the healing, but it also allows our limbs to have a greater range of motion.  I call stretching the appetizer and the desert of fitness. A divine stretch should sandwich each workout.  Upon waking, a large glass of water and a morning stretch are a great way to start your day.  One of the greatest tools for stretching is Yoga, the physical preparation for meditation; but remember, you do not have to attend a yoga class to practice yoga.  Any time is a good time for a downward dog.  If you want a body-temple that moves with ease and grace, commit to increasing its flexibility.  Jump in fully and surrender to every aspect that is required to be fit; stretching is the key that can open the door to a new way of life.

Meditative Thought: Reverend Cheryl Ward once said to me, “You cannot jump into the river and get a little wet.”  We must understand that we can’t just play in the river of life a little.  Once we have said yes, we must fully commit to the journey.  When we have one foot in the door and one foot out, we create a life of confusion and frustration.  God is calling us to a place of full surrender.  Because our life is the life of Spirit, let go and let God be your life.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, jump into the river and begin to swim with the stroke of devotion.  Fully commit to your practice, whether it be physical, mental, or spiritual.  Fully surrender and jump in with no hesitation.  Move with a full heart.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I jump into the ocean of devotion and I am wet with God’s love.  And so it is.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT: Surrendering – Day 20 “True Strength Training, True Healing”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT: Surrendering – Day 20 “True Strength Training, True Healing”

The Body Connection:  The purpose of resistance training is to strengthen your muscles, joints, and skeletal system by placing stress on the body. With the use of weights; bands and or your own body weight, this physical practice breaks down the body so that during rest time, it gets stronger.  Resistance training is important to combat obesity, fatigue, osteoporosis and any physical disease that we might experience.  Like spiritual work, strength training sometimes is neglected because of lack of knowledge.  You don’t need a gym, just your willingness to get strong.  The simple act of standing and sitting in a chair or walking steps will make all the difference.  Here are a few easy ways to strengthen you temple.  Try standing and sitting in a chair 20 times, 3 time a day.  Guess what?  You are doing squats.  Take the step instead of the elevator; you are build strong legs.  Try 2 or 3 standing push-ups.   Face the wall with yours hand on the wall, bend and straiten your elbow to complete a push up or what I call a push away. Feel the power that lives in you. Just 10 sit-ups, 3 times a day will activate healing in the body.  That old set of dumbbells in the closet or the garage is calling your name.   You can always take baby steps.  Once you begin your practice you will feel better; you will see yourself in a new light, and that is true healing. This physical activity also allows us to connect with our inner strength.  Today, I invite you to start your strength training.

Meditative Thought:  When we think of healing, most of us think of the physical, but true healing is always about the spirit.  What block our revelation of inner strength are old paradigms that there is something wrong.  The truth is every practice, mental, physical, and spiritual are design for us to know our own divinity.  But surrendering to a divine idea comes at a price. We must let go of everything and everyone that no longer serves the purpose of our growth.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, allow true healing to be your vision.  Begin a resistance-training program with the intention to connect with your inner strength.  Before or after your meditation, do a push up, sit up and or squat.  Connect your physical strength with your spiritual strength.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, every step I take is infused with the power of God.  I allow my highest potential to come forth as I live my greatest life yet to be seen.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT: Surrendering – Day 19 “Self-Healing”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT:  Surrendering – Day 19 “Self-Healing”

The Body Connection:  Cardiovascular training is the physical practice of strengthening and healing the heart, the body’s most important muscle.  The heart is the only vital organ that we cannot live without if it is not moving.  Most of my clients come to me with little or no experience in cardio training so here are some suggestions for improving your cardiovascular health.

1.  Find an activity you like, such as walking, running, cycling, rollerblading, dancing or boot camp; it doesn’t matter which one you choose; just get the heart moving.  2.  Doing this activity for 20 to 30 minutes three times a week is a good start, with a goal of five days of cardio.  But a daily dose of activity is king.   3.  Every time you breathe in and breathe out say the mantra, “I inhale self-healing, I exhale wholeness.”  The intention to get your lungs full of oxygen and to pump the blood will burn calories and fat and strengthen the body-temple, and that is the ultimate self-healer.

Meditative Thought: Because we are one in God, we must be willing to take care of our self with love and self-healing.  We must learn to be a lover of our own mind, body, and soul.  But the truth is, God’s love is so much deeper than our human caretaking.  Everything we do to take care of our self has a deeper spiritual meaning to it; we participate in the divine plan that is our life.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, go deeper with your self-care.  Recognize God in the blessings of taking care of your self.  A massage is fellowship with spirit.  A nice soothing bath is a baptism of our spirit.  A day off from the human grind of work is a day that we can play in the mind of God.  A walk or jog in the park, is a deep communion with the Universe and it is great cardio.  Today, be mindful of the activity you are participating in.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I surrender to the caretaking of my body-temple because I deserve it.  My mind, body, and spirit are fueled by love, and it is good.  I activate my self-healing.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT: Surrendering – Day 17 “Not My Will”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT: Surrendering – Day 17 “Not My Will”

The Body Connection:  It is the will of the Universe for us to be healthy and full of life.  The sole purpose of fitness is to elevate body challenges, so that we may be fit to live out our divine vision.  When the body is in shape, we move and live in a place of grace, allowing the fullness of God to be seen and shared.  Today is your day to get moving.  It does not matter what you do, but you need to do something.  Take a walk around the block, but walk with a purpose—divine purpose.  Put pep in your step.  You have a vision to fulfill; don’t let an unhealthy lifestyle stand in your way.  Your body temple was created to support your spiritual work not hinder it.

Meditative Thought: Jesus said, “Not my will but thine be done.”  When that master teacher spoke those divine words, it became a call to surrender, an invitation to allow God to be his everything.  God’s will is the most powerful thing that one can surrender to.  The will of God is to be more of itself as us—more love, more power, more compassion, more joy expressing as our life.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, anchor yourself in the will of God.  Allow your will to become God’s will.  During your meditation, touch base with you divine purpose.  Ask God to show you its will for the body, mind, and spirit.  There is a plan; it only needs to be revealed in your consciousness.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I allow God’s will to be my primary intention for my life.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT: Surrendering – Day 16 “Water Flowing”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT:  Surrendering – Day 16 “Water Flowing”

The Body Connection:  Good health is like a flowing river of water.  Once it gets going, it’s hard to stop it, but the goal is to get it going.  Like water, health and fitness surrounds us.  When you say yes to a healthier way of life, God shows up.  Be open to a life filled with well-being and allow the Universe to support you.  When your consciousness is in alignment with fitness, you will see it everywhere you go.  You will have ample opportunity to play in the field of health.  Just say yes to turn on the fountain and bring a big cup.

Meditative Thought: God’s love and blessings are always flowing; we only need to be still and surrender to the moment.  Like a fountain that is always flowing, blessings and divine gifts are constantly ready to pour forth, but I control the faucet. I can turn the water on a little or full force; the control comes from my consciousness.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, surrender to the flow of God, allowing the waters to run free.  Ask the Universe where and how you need to participate in your practices of fitness.  During a time of contemplative meditation, allow Spirit to support and anchor your decision to be healthy.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I surrender to the flow of God.  Amen

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT: Surrendering – Day 15 “Commune With Your Higher Self”

DAILY TRANSFORMATIONAL NUGGETS FOR THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT:  Surrendering – Day 15 “Commune With Your Higher Self”

The Body Connection:  The number one reason that transformation becomes an unpleasant experience is that it does not have a divine connection or purpose.  It doesn’t matter what form of exercise we do; if it does not have real meaning, it becomes a chore.  When working out, commune with your higher self.  A bicep curl or a lunge is much more effective when done for a deeper reason than to fit into your skinny jeans.  Yes, looking good is a motivation, but there has to be more.  As we begin to know our true inner spirit, our reasoning for taking care of our body becomes greater than the desire for a smaller dress size; it’s because we understand who and what we are and that we are worth all of the hard work.

Meditative Thought: We go to God to commune with God; nothing else.  When we surrender to a daily practice of deep fellowship with Spirit, our life has meaning.  Communion with God is the greatest spiritual tool we can incorporate within our lives.  Everything we do has a divine purpose; we only need to fellowship with the Universe to know it.

Today’s Action Plan:  Today, bless your journey with a deep fellowship.  During your exercise recovery time, remind yourself that you do this because of who you are.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I bless my journey with a deep fellowship in the Spirit.  Amen

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGET: 31 Days of Surrendering to God – Day 10 “Surrender to the Stillness”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGET:  31 Days of Surrendering to God – Day 10 “Surrender to the Stillness”

Meditative Thought: We can only truly know God in the stillness.  Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God.”  The Psalmist had the experience that God would be known in the quiet time of meditation.  Our recognition of God is deepened through our time spent in the stillness.  We must surrender to the practice of knowing and experiencing God through the silence.

Today’s Spiritual Assignment:  Today, surrender to the activity of knowing God and allow it to be your first priority.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I stand on holy ground and my journey is blessed.  Amen

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGET: 31 Days of Surrendering to God – Day 9 “Reaching God”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGET:  31 Days of Surrendering to God – Day 9 “Reaching God”

Meditative Thought:  Joel S. Goldsmith says, “You cannot reach God through your mind.” When I read this, I instantly understood its meaning: we can only experience God.  When we think about who God is, we always come up short.  In our human incarnation we can only conceive God as our past thoughts, teaching, and an idea of what we think God is.  Our thoughts and imagination can never create an accurate description of God.  God is an incorporeal being that can only be accessed through the invisible practice of prayer and meditation. The truth is a “God experience” is always new and fresh.  There comes a moment in our journey when we stop thinking about who God is and begin to experience what God is.

Today’s Spiritual Assignment:  Today, free your mind of the “Who” and experience the “What.” Whenever there is a quest, consciously return to the “what” question.  The answer is always God.  When life seems a little interesting, slow down and breathe the question, “What is seeking to emerge?”

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I know that God is love; therefore I am love.  And so it is.  Amen

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGET: 31 Days of Surrendering to God – Day 8 “God Is Love”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGET:  31 Days of Surrendering to God – Day 8 “God Is Love”

Meditative Thought: Surrendering to the nature of the Universe is the understanding that God is not a power that comes down to fix your life.  God is not something that we can use when it is convenient. God is a spirit that can only be experienced.  When we dive deep into the spiritual practice and feel the presence of the Universe, our issues will fade away.  The absolute power of God is Love.  When we turn our life over to Love, Love becomes the only answer that we need. The only thing that we must do is to relax and allow Universe’s love to flow as our life.

Today’s Spiritual Assignment:  Today, relax and surrender to Love.  Allow its power to guide you to new levels of existence.  As Love becomes the healing force in and as your life, set the intention to be the greatest lover of all time.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, I relax in the presence of God.  I am the manifestation of the Universe and I am blessed.  Amen
