The Shift Radio Guest-Sheila Gale

The Shift With Skip Radio

Come join Skip Jennings on this inspiring experience of prayer and belief with Sheila Gale. Sheila Gale’s daughter was waging a battle against a prolonged mystery illness-wasting away in the hospital attached to tubes and wires. Miserable to see her daughter endure such suffering, the longtime host of the hugely popular The Sheila Show, reached out to her listener base for a desperate favor in the form of prayers.

Inundated with her prayer responses, she read them to Natasha–all 450 of them–and within 48 hours, her daughter was healed and on her way home!

It was this remarkable experience that inspired GlobalPrayerPartners.com, a website to unite people who need prayers with those who are so willing to offer them.

Sheila realized that there are many people in need from all parts of the world and from all different religious and theological backgrounds.  They require a helping prayer from time-to-time. Prayer is the great unifier as all of the spiritual pathways believe in the power of prayer. GlobalPrayerPartners.com will offer an extraordinary worldwide network for prayer requests to be answered by concerned spiritual seekers and healers from around the globe!

This Week’s Meditative Thought – Spiritual Awakening

Spiritual Awakening

Skip Jennings-GlassesThis week’s we’ll focus on the quest for spiritual awakening. This is especially true if you are just going through the motions of life.  Remember that everything that we do is an opportunity to awaken our awareness to God that lives within us all. Through contemplating and meditating we set the spiritual intention of living and help ignite the flame of truth and our life begins to have meaning. Every time we set the intention to grow spiritually, a new beginning is taking place and thus begins the knowledge of our divine self, our higher self.

Spring is the perfect time to allow yourself the journey of divine exploration. Allow it to be your #1 priority and let the old way of just surviving fall away and embrace your spiritual awakening. There is a power greater than you that lives within your spirit and it is ready to be awakened. Set the intention to live to your greatest potential; awaken to a new life that is fulfilling and meaningful.

This Week’s Spiritual Assignment:

All this week, take the time to cultivate your life purpose. Set into a daily practice with the focus to expand your consciousness.   Sit in meditation with only the Omni purpose to connect with Source.

Peace and Blessings,

 – Skip

Skip’s Weekend Affirmation – Spring Into Action

Skip Jennings Meditating in blueSpring Into Action

Those who know me know that I love affirmations. They are a terrific way to end a week and are most effective when they hold some type of truth or resonance for you. So find a quiet place to steel away your moment to breath and find that resonance: This week, we’ll take a look int an affirmation that reflects our meditation theme this week of

Spring Into Action

Just for this moment…just for this breath, my life is an unwritten book with infinite possibilities, and Divine are stories awaiting my authorship. The Universal ink of God unleashes its creativity daily on the blank pages of my existence. And so it is. Amen

The Shift Radio Guest- Author Helen Woo

Helen Woo had a difficult life growing up and decided she needed to do something about it. Having experienced a philosophical and spiritual shift, Woo created the concept of SELF-AID–an acronym that stands for Self-Aid (self-help), Esteem, Love/Laughter, Freedom, Attitude, Integrity, Dream. Her new book SELF-AID – Inspirations to Turn Struggles into Success (January, 2015), allows her readers to be inspired and uplifted by the very quotes that ultimately turned her life around. Each quote is followed by one of her unique “Wooisms” – the ideal way to interpret the quote to engineer a shift into a higher and better way of thinking. The book, divided into each of  these categories, provides SELF-AID for anyone to lift out of their doldrums or  depression and move into a life filled with joy, peace, gratitude and prosperity. Woo is passionate about paying it forward–giving others the thrust they need to  overcome whatever past traumas and dramas might have held them back. With her new book, her radio show, SELF-AID Success Stories, and her second book of the same title, due in the spring, Woo shares empowering and inspiring stories from successful entrepreneurs and public figures on how they overcame their own struggles and failures.

Woo is also creating a SELF-AID foundation for empowerment that gives people the  courage to change from a negative to a positive framework in their lives; leaving the struggle behind and experiencing the surge!  Woo is now an emerging speaker, writer and leader, who brings a welcome ultra-positive perspective to everything she does. SELF-AID Inspirations to Turn Struggles into Success is a key to opening up the reader’s heart and mind to reframe his or her life from lackluster to luscious. Ms. Woo would be happy to offer quotes and “Wooisms” from SELF-AID Inspirations to Turn Struggles into Success.

This Week’s Meditative Thought – Spring Into Action

Skip Jennings SportSpring Into Action

This week’s meditative thought revolves around this new season of renewal that is spring. “Spring into action” is a term I use a lot during this time to set in place practice that empowers transformation and achieve your goals. This should be the time that motivates and inspires you to move toward your goals.

To begin with, embrace a new way of thinking, living, and moving through this world. Stop thinking about a life that WAS and become the life we Desire AND Need.  I know that many of us may be bogged by indecisions and failures that haunt us and that to weigh us down like a ball & chain. I say, stop the nonsense, take today to embrace a great idea, intention, and to make it a goal to create the action. We must become what we desire. Did you know that baseball players that hits the ball 30% of the time are considered great! That means that they miss 66% of the time. So let’s begin tearing-off the shackles and begin swinging. You’ll connect.

This Week’s Spiritual Assignment:

All this week, let’s connect and act as if what you desired is done. Cultivate the attitude that all your poetical prospects are accomplished and prosperous. Take the time to write it down in journal about how it feels to have success in all your goals. Write about it as if it was completed and fulfilled.

Peace and Blessings,

The Lotus Kitchen-Zucchini Pie

The Lotus Kitchen, Zucchini Pie

  • 8 CUPS ZUCCHINI, SLICED AND CUT IN HALF 1 CUP SUGAR
  • 2/3 CUP LEMON JUICE
  • 1 TABLESPOON LEMON ZEST
  • 1 TABLESPOON CINNAMON

In a saucepan cook sliced zucchini, sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon until zucchini is tender (about 10 minutes).

Crust:

  • 4 CUPS FLOUR
  • 2 CUPS SUGAR
  • 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
  • 1 1/2 CUPS BUTTER

Mix together the flour, sugar, salt, and butter until crumbly. Pat 1/2 crust mix into 9×13 pan. Bake 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Add 1/2 cup crust mix to hot cooked zucchini mix; cool. Pour over baked crust. Add one teaspoon cinnamon to remaining crust mix. Spread over zucchini filling. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes; cool. Cut into squares.

The Practice:

When we think of pie, we often think of a singular slice of a pie. Yoga is about discovering your wholeness. Like a pie, each slice is essential to create the entire pie. See your mind as a part of the pie, see your body as another part of the pie, and your spirit as the final slice of your wholeness. You are a complete, whole pie of goodness. Today we TK your divine wholeness, and honor how complete you really are.

Movie Recommendation-McFarland USA

cover326x326

This is a feel good sports film that will inspire you, like many Kevin Costner movies tend to do. Now that there’s Disney behind the whole thing get ready for a tear jerker and motivational big film to get you in the mood to get up off your butt and do more for yourself. This isn’t a life changing film, however it does shed light on some underprivileged kids and communities that find their passion for a sport is their way out into the world of magic and dreams.

Skip’s Weekend Affirmation – The Gift of Meditation

Skip Meditating Affirmations are a terrific way to end a week and are most effective when they hold some type of truth or resonance for you. So steel away your moment to breath and find that resonance:

Just for this moment…just for this breath, my life is Grace in action. I am a global beacon that elevates all that comes in contact with my light. And so I am. And it is. Amen.

The Lotus Kitchen-Blueberry Mango Salad

Blueberry Mango Salad

  • 4 LIMES
  • 1 CUP WATER
  • 1/4 CUP AGAVE NECTAR
  • 2 LARGE MANGOS, PEELED AND CUT INTO 1-INCH PIECES 3 CUPS BLUEBERRIES
  • 1/4 CUP CRYSTALLIZED GINGER, FINELY CHOPPED

Remove zest from one lime in strips with a vegetable peeler and cut any white pith from strips with a sharp knife. Squeeze juice from limes. Bring zest, water, and agave to a boil in a saucepan. Remove from heat and stir in lime juice.
Let syrup stand 20 minutes, then remove zest with a slotted spoon and discard. Toss together mangoes, blueberries and syrup in a large bowl and sprinkle with ginger. Serves 4.

The Practice: The nectar and sweetness of the fruit in this salad remind us that the practice of yoga is sweet nectar as well. When we finish our daily practice of yoga we are reminded of how sweet life is. Physical practice brings us to a place of surrender and final relaxation called Shavasana, the corpse pose. “Life is Good.” To get to the nectar of yoga, we must work through the practice. The journey, in this experience, is to recognize the preparation of the salad is very much like the practice of yoga. Once the salad is complete, sit and is still; enjoy every bite. “Life is Good.”

Corpse Pose (Savasana) Instruction:

We lay on our backs in full rest experiencing the pleasures of the breath and moment. It is also the final meditation of the practice where we remember that life is really really good.
